I think flowers would be an acceptable gift if somebody is leaving.

nissan3 Not at all. Flowers are always lovely to receive and there are no connotations involved.

I gave a young employee who constantly nibbled throughout the day a box of bits that she loved. I included a small pretty cool bag for lunches with matching insulated cup and filled it with her favourite crunchie bars, mini cheddars and fruit pastilles etc ... and a bottle of prosecco (a must!!)

Depends on your budget this one is cute but there are plenty a lot cheaper.

Are you looking on behalf of all the staff? Are you clubbing together or is it a personal gift? If she is leaving for a particular reason i.e. to have a baby then a baby layette, if to go travelling, a nice back pack, if to study then a really nice pen and notebook set or to another job how about plant/flowers and bottle of wine?

nissan3 I understand that completely but a plant might be in order. Or maybe the bottle of wine and one of those mugs with hot chocolate and marshmallows.

It would feel less awkward if you band together with other colleagues to purchase a card and a gift or two.

Stick your phone number on the gift tag if she doesn't already have it - then it's entirely up to her!

my daughter around that age and she would say either a voucher or maybe get a nice bottle of wine candle and some bath bombs so she can relax at night them are the things my daughter would suggest or a nice purse

Her last day is Friday & I haven't got the guts to tell her how i really feel about her. Going to be really tough saying goodbye, feel I'm going to break down in front of her. 😔

nissan3 why don't you just say to her that is not going to be this same without her there and it would be great to go for coffee sometimes and you'll see what she says. Be strong and best of luck 🤗
