Going out of Your Way to Thank a Business for Good Service

Other

If I feel i have received really good service- either on the phone, online or in person I will go out of my way to find out who i was dealing with and contact the company- normally by email- to explain i was pleased with the service and why etc. not just put it on trustpilot or other review websites (i do those too). Does anyone else do this?

I have made a conscious effort to do this more in the last few years. If I receive bad service i am willing to contact the company to complain, so it’s only fair if i receive good service i should also do the same

jms19 i think its only fair really. But even if I’m phoning someone to complain I’m always polite - my mum used to say you catch more bees with honey than you do with vinegar- or something like that. But it works- if I’m polite and laugh a little i do tend to get my own way lol

I am trying to do more of simply leaving good feedback but I also love the idea of emailing so will do more of that too going forward. I did find out last year about one hotel I stayed in for work who had excellent customer service. If you wrote a review and named the staff member they got a £5 bonus.

I always try and get the person's name and make a conscious effort of either writing on social media for all to see, telling the manager or if I do their online survey I'll add it in there too. I'm finding myself writing more Trustpilot and/or Google reviews too, I'd much rather leave a positive review than a negative. I did this week send a gift to a small business store staff because they went above and beyond to help us and it wasn't even store related, it was car issues, but they all rallied to help.

If we spread positivity it often encourages positivity and helps improve most people's moods.

We need more of this!

Keep it up ❤️

We have a great guy who always delivers for Hermes, I sent a feedback form telling the company to give him a raise 🤣.

If i've received good customer service I do like to acknowledge this but will also make contact if i've not been satisfied with something.

When you see how other people will go out of their way to show appreciation for good service doesn’t it make your day a little bit brighter!

I probably don't do that very often but then I don't think I get many situations where I get great service. I'm always very pleasant in shops and on public transport and thanking staff in the normal way but I can't really think of anytime I had great service beyond normal service levels. What would be an example of this?

I don't really do it, but at times I've left really good feedback if they went above and beyond to help

I usually fill in the customer satisfaction surveys they send on email and am totally honest. I went to Beefeater with a friend last weekend with a 33% discount voucher. We had a prawn cocktail and fillet steak with fries, mushroom and grilled tomato, it was delicious, and less than £20 each. I told them so and how friendly the staff were.
