A note of caution to everyone I received an email stating that I won a prize !! and in order to claim it I need to ring the 030 number after checking trust pilot it seems as though it is a sneaky way of up - selling.
I smell a rat !!!! I do not want to gamble with a company with these selling tactics !!!!!
Hit that SCAM button Angela. There are so many scammers and crafty sales people out there these days. If in doubt, scam and move on. Don't waste a single moment being lured in by offers which are too good to be true or prizes which not suprisingly never appear.
Thanks for the heads up, the nuance calls are becoming beyond a joke nowadays, im getting several a day. Wish there was something we could do about it
I had three calls this week on different days supposedly from ofgem, i cut them straight off , and blocked
If you ever win a prize you generally get a letter confirming it if it’s real. Cold callers do not offer free anything. If it’s too good to be true, it generally is.
That sounds like a scam. My partners dad got scamed not so long ago by budget seeds, but his bank gave him his money back
Good Life is a competition site, the catch being that you pay a subscription and are automatically entered in all comps and draws. Every so often they give free entry to a comp but you are encouraged to subscribe. The free entry route comps are often posted on LD comp page. I had a call from them saying I had won 100 entries into a comp but it was really a marketing sales call. The guy was friendly, did not exert pressure, did not ask for any bank details or info other than what I had entered with to confirm it was me. I chose to use the entries on the 25k draw. Whether they did enter me in I have no way of knowing but I do not believe they are scams, just a comp site that tend to use a bit of bribery to get you to subscribe. I think it is about £3.99 per month. If they were scammers I doubt the comps would make it on to LD as they do block suss sites.
I've never had to phone to claim a prize. Email or PM usually. I've heard of Good Life Plus, they are a subscription based comp site. I don't personally use them.
I am really impressed by the number of companies of this type that have appeared recently. I received a lot of advertising from BOOM! Holidays. Yesterday I received an email from them about the winner of a trip. I clicked on the link to access the website, and it was down. I looked on some social media and saw that it had been deleted. The company went bankrupt with the money of many people dreaming of winning a trip.
P.s.: They had only excellent reviews on Trustpilot.
This is a competition currently on the comp page, as I said before, they are mostly paid for but they do free ones sometimes.
Lynibis One thing I found a bit strange about them. They have a lot of competitions running, etc;
For example, they have one named "HOLIDAY TO GREECE". When you click on the "View more" button, there is absolutely nothing about the competition—the same for all the others.
How do you know which holiday it is? An all-inclusive for a week in Corfu? 7 days in Santorini? Flights included?
kikogpe I must admit I do avoid them so don't look into their site too much. I just entered one comp on the LD comp page, because it was free, to win 100 tickets into some draw or other. It was shortly after that I got the call to say I had won and they did try to get me to do a monthly subscription which pays for entry into ALL comps. But who knows? I don't want to be hassled with calls every time I enter one of their free comps so I do avoid them now.
