Why, because they can cause fine scratches on the bodywork
He advised using woolen mitts instead
Another person advises not to clean your car while wearing keys , either clipped to your belt or elsewhere
These can also scratch your car as you lean over the bodywork
The same goes for rings or other jewellery
Not using rotating brush car washes i already knew about, these can also damage the car
The final tip is not to use washing up liquid instead of car shampoo to wash your vehicle
It contains salt and other chemicals that will strip any wax or paint sealant from surfaces on your car
I never wash my car with water, i use a waterless spray that doesn't leave water marks , which you get in hard water areas
It also leaves the bodywork gleaming
