Hampers for New Baby
Money Saving
Hi guys, I'm going to be a grandma in August and I'm on a very tight budget. I'd like to make a hamper for my grandchild with a little bit of everything, however I'm on a shoe string budget so I'm looking for tips for the cheapest places to shop for the items I would like to include. Im after toiletries, clothes, blankets, toys, bottles, towels, keepsakes, wipes, nappies, bottles dummies... All the essentials that will alleviate the cost a bit for my son and his partner. Id be grateful for any tips ideas codes or knowledge of discontinued stuff I can buy lots of for as cheap as possible.
Thank u in advance for your time
When I was pregnant I got loads between home bargains and Aldi doesn't matter what you get it's the thought that counts
There are loads of freebies you can claim for babies, often it is one per household:

People often give away some decent items, some babies get so much they don't end up getting to wear it all so sometimes things are still brand new with tags.
There are the following places that you can check the free sections:
Local Facebook groups
OLIO app
Freecycle
Freegle
Freely Wheely
Freeads (Free stuff section)
Gumtree (Under For sale there is a freebies section)
Shpock you can set it to Price from £0 to £0
Vinted not free but you can get some great deals for baby clothes.
Don't forget to check the freebies section on here - if you can save money on something else (not baby related) you might be able to use that money for the baby items too.
Please be careful when getting anything from Amazon, it might be cheaper but you want to make sure it is completely safe, especially for a newborn.

Congrats!! and I think it is lovely what you are doing and wanting to help
I remember working in argos and they gave away free baby goodie bags. Just had a look and these links seen to be related to it:
Congratulations. Whatever you give will be appreciated but the most important is time. One thing I bought was a couple of meal deals once they’re home or you could make some and freeze in advance.
How lovely, congratulations. Just shop around and pick up bits and pieces when their on offer, such as toiletries, and clothes, maybe get the next sizes up, i'm sure all your gifts will be appreciated as everything helps.
Congratulations. Look on places like fb marketplace. People sell things that are either new or like new and sometimes give them away for free. I was grateful for everything I got for my son. Look in places like Aldi and Lidl too, the toiletries they do are fantastic, same with the nappies and wipes. Plus Aldi does a baby event where you can get towels, clothes etc.
Aldi often have some baby/children’s products in their middle aisles. They also have cheap wipes etc that are cruelty free
My advice is to enter every baby centred competition you find, you may be lucky. A friend of mine win the entire pram system for her daughter's new baby. Saved £s
