Heinz Stop Producing Sticky Treacle Sponge Pudding, Will You Miss It ?

Ask a Question

As a traditional pudding eater i will definitely miss it, not particularly heinz , but i am worried others will follow suit

It seems most traditional sweets are biting the dust, and being replaced by modern desserts and fancy gastro versions

The younger generation wont understand it, probably never savouring a decent dessert

Will you miss this one or is there another you might miss

It is one of my favourite puddings but find it hard to find the perfect one, love it served hot with ice cream, my dream dessert.

telmel I cannot stand custard but each to their own. My husband likes it but worse than that he likes evaporated milk, yuk.

telmel My husband pours it on goldfish, sorry peach slices. While on this subject can’t stand trifle either. Not keen on foods being mixed together.

I like traditional puddings, but haven't bought the Heinz version. I generally don't like to see products getting discontinued. Although, I wouldn't object if Heinz stopped making their canned Macaroni Cheese 🤮

ACR I agree the Heinz Macaroni cheese is terrible. I use to eat it all the time but then changed the cheese and it's far too strong. Really makes you sick.🤮

Its a shame really as I grew up with these puddings. I know they were discontinued years ago: Treacle Pudding, Spotted ****, Chocolate and Strawberry Pudding. My favourite was the Treacle. No other brand beats the Treacle by Heinz as I have tried them all. The Treacle was just gorgeous throughout. With Custard of course.

telmel You cant say anything anymore without someone or something getting offended. What a great World we live In today. I did not even think that word would get restricted. How ridiculous.

Never had Heinz. I think the fresh chilled ones are the nicest. The custard shelf ones are cheaper but must have more preservatives. They don’t taste nice. I don’t think they will discontinue if they sell well still and they are popular. Even if they did they are SO easy to make. Just need the few ingredients and a microwave.

I’ve had it a few times and always enjoyed it. Can’t say I would have noticed it missing from the shelves though.

As you said there are other manufacturers so not a massive deal Heinz have stopped making it

Gutted, heart broken, angry. Found a petition that has been started - not that it will work of course ! Feels like someone is trying to wipe out my childhood!

I wonder how many people have got a ‘stash’ of these and will now try to start selling them on line at stupid prices?

I did really like these old tin puddings - but cant remember the last time I actually bought one so I guess I wont miss them. There is plenty of choice out there these days.

Heinz sticky treacle pudding is quite nice but there are nicer treacle puddings about for less money and its not difficult to do your own anyway. I can't say I'd miss it.

Don't really understand this story as these Heinz tinned puddings have not been available for years in the supermarkets. Used to buy them quite often not just the Treacle one but also the Strawberry one ( my favorite) and the Chocolate one ( kids favorite)
