Help Me Name My Kitten Please

Ask a Question

I have a kitten, she is nearly nine weeks but I am struggling to give her the perfect name. She is smallest of a litter of four, very friendly. I have more pictures if needed. Image

eyeballkerry omg I've always wanted chinchillas but I've heard they need a lot of looking after and space

Leannexxx They are pretty easy to look after but you do need a large cage. I used to have a very large parrot cage for them. I have had a few and only one was really friendly. Better getting a cat.

What an absolute cutey pie? I think the name will come to you after a few days watching the kittens behaviour, then it will be obvious in your mind exactly what name you should choose . Good luck .

Nickyhaslam77 This is what happened with our cats, we did give them names but then they all got nick names.

She's adorable! Congratulations 😁

I think it depends on what sort of names you like.

I personally like 'people names' but some people like pet names or personality based names or even Disney names etc.

My partner just saw this on my laptop screen and suggested 'Pebbles'

Misty, Tilly, Suki and Socks although cute names, they are the most popular names I hear when at the vets, so would be too common for me.

I know with dogs a one syllable name is often easier for them to learn so easier to train, not sure if this is the same as cats.

She's very pretty, I think she looks like a Florence, Enid or Darcey.

Loretta is very fitting though, one website says: This is an English name that means “small” or “wise one” and a Latin name that means “honor,” “fame,” or “spirit.”

You'll know when you know, what the right name is. We had an animal called Fidget as he was such a Fidget bum 😆

DeBunny Thanks for all your suggestions. Pebbles is a very cute name. We have has a Tilly, my dads cat was called Socks. Florence was my mum’s adopted sheep. Enid is one of our awful neighbours. Not just us that thinks this. And Darcey is my niece. Before seeing your name my daughter suggested Bunny.

eyeballkerry Oh maybe not Enid then 🤭 Aww I'm glad you responded and I'm glad those beautiful names are already in use/have been. Bunny is cute. a 'Binky' is a little skipping, jump, twist in the air that bunnies do when they are super happy and can't always control it, which is cute.

JLouM We already have two cats, Kitty and Nelly. But they both have nick names Beanie and Pickle. So Pickle had the kittens and one looks identical to her so she is called Baby pickle until she goes to her new home.

eyeballkerry Ah it’s the pickle family! How about pepper? Husband used to have salt and pepper once. My sister acquired a cat from a death in family, never really wanted one and she’s quite old. They just call it cat! It did have a name but can’t remember it, something like felix I think but it’s a she. However they treat her like a queen for a cat 😅. She has the best comforts and good life there.

What a beautiful kitten, she's gorgeous!

Make sure she's chipped, spayed as soon as she is able. Also I advise you to take Pet Insurance out ..

Our Torti Topaz was 10 month old when she had to have her little paw wired, the Vet Receptionist rang me after Topaz 's assessment asking if I could afford £2,000,in the end I paid almost £1000

I made sure my partner took out Pet Insurance on my behalf after that!

STRIPEY, AMBER, TIGRE, EBONY, TINY TABBY OR TABITHA...X

janphoenix51 I already have two cats which are both chipped. One of them can not have kittens but the other one just had a litter and will be spayed once she has finished nursing. We had insurance for our dog once but due to the surgery she needed the insurance did not cover it. We know have a pet money bank set aside. Thanks for the names, our neighbour has a cat called Amber. Tabitha is a cute name.

ch7leach Honeycomb is sweet, could be shortened to Honey. I like Bear, so could be Honey bear. We have a Percy in our extended family so it won’t be that. Thanks for the suggestions.
