What's Your Ideal Hen Party/Ladies Lunch Celebration?
Ask a Question
Can you recall your hen do? Did you go out of an evening and party til dawn or did you meet up for tea and cakes or lunch? As I'm 54 going on 2 and a half some days I've opted for hot donuts on the seafront followed by a visit to an icecream parlour. What do you think? Keep it clean ladies, not too much information we don't want Tom blushing LOL
We are tempted just to have the hens & stags together with the main wedding party for a meal out and ditch the traditional hen and stag dos.
I never had a hen night nor my hubby a stag do..didn't feel a need to.When I was much younger I went on a friend's hen do and saw some male strippers! Not my idea just being obliging lol.My sister in law's was more tame .All the ladies went for a nice Italian meal and saw an Elvis act.
I organied a hen do in a local restaurant that also turned into a disco afterwards ( showing my age here). Everything was going well, eating drinking, dancing, drinking, then I got a call my eldest daughter, 4, at the time was in hospital. I sobered up very quickly!
I just went to evening pub meal but there was one male there too from work and I didn’t mind. There were no blushes as I’m not that sort of personality. It was just a nice evening.
My daughter has been on several hen parties recently. Milan which was expensive and another to Ibiza. I’m glad to hear you're being sensible and not expecting friends to pay thousands.
My best friend and bridesmaid organised everything. I just told her who I wanted there. We went to a spa, got facials, massages, manicures and pedicures. We had our own private room with a hot tub and sauna. Then we went to a cocktail making class and then for dinner. After that we went back to my best friends flat and had a sleepover. She even had tshirts made, I've still got mine. It was a fabulous day. 9 years ago at the end of this month.
I haven't had my hen do, but I've been on others. It all depends on ages, how many are going and what you can and cannot afford. I know people that have gone abroad for a long weekend or they've gone away for the whole week. I know people that have joint Hen/Stag do and they've had a house party or gone out on a night out together. I've known people to go out for a meal with friends and family to celebrate.
I didn't have a hen do, it was back in 1971. But I cringe when I see the antics of some guys and gals these days. If over 50 I think a nice lunch or maybe one of those escape room type things, or both! Even a theme park if you are all relatively active.
