What Are Your Favorite Hobbies and How Do You Enjoy Them?
Ask a Question
What do you do in your spare time as a hobby and do you do this on your own or as a couple or group?
I have quite a few hobbies. Reading, doing crosswords/puzzles, listening to YouTube (I especially love watching a live trial), baking, gardening and crocheting.
Jerseydrew I've come to understand how the law works now in the USA, so I tend to watch Law & Crime Network, but starting out I watched Emily D Baker who explains things very well. Got interested during the Depp v Heard trial and now I'm hooked. A really interesting and rather crazy one happened about a year ago. A guy called Darrell Brooks drove through a Christmas parade and decided to represent himself.
AlysonC I love doing crossword puzzles as long as they're not too cryptic. I like things on you tube too. There's some interesting videos on there
mumstheword26 I don't mind cryptic crosswords once I get used to the person who puts them together. You tend to get used to what they are trying to hint at. YouTube is great!
AlysonC I found the law and crime network last night. Was seeing what I could find will look for Emily d Baker. I love watching stuff on YouTube
I have a few hobbies in my spare time gardening swimming outside in the river blackwater and sea here in bradwell on sea Essex road fixing things reading and watching West ham united
In my spare time I do surveys and competitions. I don't really have any hobbies outside of that. I am pretty boring to be honest!
Don't really have any hobbies, I go to football and rugby league games, I don't read books ect...
I absolutely love walking. I go out at least twice a day. I walk on my own or with other family members. I used to have dogs and can’t wait to get another one in the future.
History is my main hobby, hence reading a lot. I regard comping on here as a hobby and also like jigsaw and knitting.
I do French on Duolingo on my phone,my daughter learnt Swedish & she can decipher what's being said on her Swedish crime dramas & it will come in handy for her trip to Sweden at the end of July...
I love a good walk, my Skechers & I have travelled all over with me, UK & abroad too...
I love my music, it's my life..
I also love a good Quiz, especially if it's a Music Quiz..
I am a bit of a fidgety person who finds it hard to sit still so I'm always looking for something to do. I love reading because I find that you can escape into a good book and learn new things . I also enjoy cross stitching. I'm not a very artistic person but I love to create the pictures with a good cross stitch .
It's very rewarding to me when I complete puzzles, especially Su-Do-Ku puzzles at the moment. I got into these puzzles because years ago when they were new a friend told me he had been trying to complete one and it was impossible, so that was like a challenge to me. I had to show him that it wasn't impossible and after many attempts I did just that. I've continued to enjoy them ever since.
Nickyhaslam77 I'm a bit fidgety too lol. Always got to be doing something. I enjoy jigsaw puzzles the 1000 piece ones during winter months. I've never tried su-do-ku.
mumstheword26 once you get used to how to do them you'll love them (I think , like I said I had to show that they weren't impossible so that thought process kept me motivated at first but now I really enjoy them . I haven't completed a jigsaw for years . I remember I would start with the edge of the puzzle then fill the middle in once edge was completed. I had 3 younger siblings, so what ruined jigsaws for me was the fact that after hours of working on it I would find out that pieces were missing . Even worse still was finding that the pieces that had been driving me crazy were from another puzzle . Grrrrr.

Don't have any hobbies as such but enjoy walking in the countryside and visiting NT places, also love gardening.
Gardening is a great hobby and good for mental health too. Walking is good for your health too. Visiting places is also great because it changes our environment even if it's for a short time it makes a big difference to our day xx
mumstheword26 Yes quite agree I always find a good walk blows away the cobwebs and i can loose myself for hours gardening.
I have a multitude of arts and crafts hobbies. Yesterday I painted using acrylic paint and acrylic markers. I also like embroidery, clay sculpting, writing, mosaic, sketching, watercolour, sketching etc etc. The only thing I don't do much of in this field is knitting or crochet.
EmmaWright762 wow you're so creative and have many talents. I must admit I'm not one for knitting, sewing crochet or anything like that.
I like travelling abroad but feel a little uneasy about visiting some places now.I have travelled the length and breadth of Australia by campervan with my husband. We would love to do this again but there is an age restriction of under 70 so I think that we will not be able to go again as we are both 70 plus.
SueWard I feel they shouldn't put age restrictions on people because everyone is different. I love the thought of you and your husband travelling together in a campervan. There's always ways around age restrictions just get someone else to drive. That way you can still enjoy your trips ;)
jms19 tennis used to have me in fits of laughter in my school years. I never understood it apart from whacking a ball to each other with a racket. I was always the one that hit the ball over the fence
Jackscot I used to jog many years ago and loved it but it made me a bit too excessive so I stopped. It's nice to see that you have a few things that you enjoy.
I like reading magazines and occasionally books, I do puzzles in the magazines, enter competitions, do online surveys but mostly do art colouring, painting and drawing it's really good for my mental health.
KAW18 yes a lot of what you do is good for your mental health because it makes you focus on what you're doing and not anything that's going on outside of you.
