Ice Cream Van Rescued after Being Swept out to Sea
In the News
You might be used to seeing a milk float on the street, but not an ice cream van float on the sea
That's what happened to this one, and nobody was queuing for a 99, just calling 999
It was swept out to sea in Padstow, Cornwall , luckily the driver was not in it at the time
And you couldn't even hear it chiming out 'green sleeves' this time , only 'SOS' by Abba

This made me laugh. I'm not sympathetic as you know about the tides. I live next to a beach every year cars get caught. Locals just laugh. Even more when it's another local as they know better.
Jerseydrew I am one of those people J
I got stuck many years ago on talacre beach in north wales , when i was young and foolish
It didn't help my car was very heavy , it was an old 3 .5 lt Rover
Luckily some of the locals helped me push it to harder sand and i didn't need a tow truck
I missed this story, so just read it now. It seemed to amuse a lot of people, we are a sad lot. Hopefully he has some kind of insurance for this. Otherwise we need to have a ‘whippy’ round.
eyeballkerry I know the story isn't 'chiming' or is that charming , and is a bit 'corny'etto , but at least the driver was ok
Ps I like the whippy bit E
telmel Loving your ‘corny’etto jokes! We do like to laugh at other people’s misfortune but hopefully he will see the funny side and get his business back on solid ground.
