Before posting a deal it's worthwhile doing a quick search to check that what you're sharing is not available cheaper somewhere else. Aswell as being crucial to the success of a deal site, it will also prevent the frustration caused when someone points out in the comments that there's a better deal available (it should be mentioned here that if this does happen, always check that the commenter is actually correct in their assertion before reacting).

The more time you spend searching around for deals to post the better your knowledge will become. In time you will be able to compare prices from memory and it will become much easier to recognise a good deal when you see one.

Even then it can still pay to double check. A simple online search for the item and clicking the shopping tab will show you many of the bigger retailers current pricing. Camelcamelcamel is very useful for checking on Amazon items.

It won't be long before you are the one commenting on someone else's deal to give them the bad news
