Instant Coffee Suggestions

Ask a Question

I have been a coffee drinker my whole life. I have been buying Sainsburys instant decaf coffee for some years. All of a sudden I’ve gone right off it. Not sure if it’s just me that’s changed or if they have changed it in some way. Currently £1.49 to £2. Nescafé jumps to £3.50. So I’m on the lookout for another brand at similar price or not too much more. I know I can’t stand mellow bird. Anyone have any recommendations? Thank you.

There's a deal on Amazon for Kenco Millicano every so often. I picked up 6 cans of Intenso for £8.70 this week and it's £5.35 for 1 at Tesco atm. No good if you don't have Prime, but keep your eyes out otherwise.

Instant coffee is a capital offence lol.Lidl's Azera coffee copycat just about passes muster as/when/if in a caffeine crisis.

MelissaLee1 I’m actually after decaf instant. 😅. Although I do drink caffeinated as well but that’s not instant. I need to alternate.

Sorry I can’t help on this one as I don’t like the taste of a hot coffee but absolutely love the smell of coffee beans and love coffee chocolates

I agree about mellow bird I don’t like it at all either. Not really a fan of dowe eggberts either. I usually just look in one of the discount stores and find some big jars of Kenco with some money off them.

Lidl and Aldi both do a decaff version of the Azera coffee. My mum and mother in law, who are both instant coffee snobs, absolutely love it.

I must admit I can't tell the difference between the various standard freeze dried coffees available from most supermarkets. I tried an indonesian blend from Lidl recently which was slightly above the standard freeze dried for pricing and it was awful. Generally I go from basic freeze dried coffee to fresh coffee rather than buy any mid-level premium coffee. I can't stand the cheap granulated coffee. Some of the premium coffees do seem to have a lot of additives in which I'm not keen on which puts me off however I will buy them when there is a big offer on them to try.

I’ve gone for Nescafé. Only £3 so next jump up but at least it’s palatable. Tried it, liked it so husband bought a big jar for £6 on nectar price as cheaper per gram overall so bit of a bulk buy there. Should last ages.

We stick to Kenco Milicano, although it can be expensive its usually on offer somewhere. We usually get it from Amazon on Subscribe and save for 6 tins which work out a lot cheaper than Tesco at the moment. It does vary massivly in price though. Tesco is £5.35 a tin at the moment but it was £6.50 recently. Works out £3.40 on s&s but has been a lot less.

I like Nescafé Gold Blend Smooth coffee. It’s rarely on offer so try a small jar first.
