Interesting Tv Series?
Ask a Question
Anyone watching anything interesting on tv at min. I like nothing more than binge watching a good series on a lazy day or watching a good film while I’m standing ironing . Makes the ironing not as boring. Any ideas for good film or series let me know. Love police dramas, loved line of duty etc
I spent the last three nights watching Queen Charlotte on Netflix, it's by the Bridgerton mob with some of the same characters. Whilst I enjoyed it very much it is hard to keep remembering that these programmes are highly fictionalised, so Charlotte and George would not be as depicted.
Whilst I usually prefer to watch historical stuff I thoroughly enjoyed Bank of Dave and The Lost King recently. The latter was about the lady in Leicester who was ultimately responsible for finding the remains of Richard III. It had a nice touch in that she conversed with an imaginary Richard through the film.
Iv just finished bingeing Daisy Jones & the six on prime. I'd not read the book but wish I had now as I loved the series. Best thing iv watched in ages & has a great soundtrack too.
Glitterandgold I seen this advertised but think I might check out the book 1st since u say u should have read it. Only thing I suppose bout reading book 1st is it can then leave the show lacking when they skip parts of the book out especially if it’s part in book u really enjoyec
Borgen (Danish political drama), Beck (Swedish police drama) or Catfish (just started to watch this again after about 7 years - pretty good!)
I have been watching the Traveller on Netflix, it's about time travellers from the future who take over the body/life of someone at the moment of their death and they try to advert disasters to hopefully make the future better. There are 3 series
chele44 this is a chat from way back that has loads of the best series you will ever watch....honest!
As you scroll down there are pictures and reviews of the programmes and I am sure there will be plenty to keep you going the rest of the year..and beyond
chele44 tv is my best friend and although I don't retire until July I also live alone and like nothing more than a good boxset or film. My sons and I swap notes and recommend to each other.
On that link you will find (in my humble opinion) some of the best series ever made. Do please come back to this chat and let me know if you start any of them.
We are hooked on CSI Vegas we have started it from the beginning. there are 16 series and we are on series 2! lol a way to go.
I stumbled across this Australian series on sky called the last king of the cross. Got a similar vibe to the sopranos so anyone that liked that will enjoy it. It even has a character who is basically a rip off of Silvio, even to his mannerisms & facial expressions.
More a docuseries - The Bling Ring. about a group of teens that robbed celebrity house. it was a real eye opener.
If anyone has Disney + or can get a free month, I recommend The Bear. Really good show about a starred chef who moves back home to run his dead brother's sandwich shop in Chicago. Very good show in my opinion
G0501 Really enjoyed The Bear, but what on earth was that Christmas episode all about, just didn't really fit into the rest of the series.
blacklabrador I know! I didn't know what to make of it. Very dysfunctional family Christmas dinner
We've been binje watching True Detective, there is 4 seasons, it's been quite good, depends on what your into
I am watching back series of Silent Witness as I didn't get into the show until the more recent ones. It is strange to see how young Emilia Fox was back then compared to the current series 27. (She wasn't in the very early ones).
I recently watched Based On A True Story! It’s very good! Comedy thriller!
I was thinking what it would be like with the storyline years ago and it took this long for it to be made into a tv series lol
Bodies - one of the best TV series I’ve watched in a long time. It’s a limited series on Netflix
Geekygamergurl can’t believe S.W.A.T is on its last season!! Love watching the tv series!!
kitty88uk I’m rewatching it right up to the new season which hopefully airs 17th Feb
Geekygamergurl cool haha don’t think can rewatch the tv series
Shemar Moore posted an article that he hints there could be another season? No idea could be by another tv network
Geekygamergurl is that so
I’m watching it on sky witness I’m with virgin media
So unless you have that guess you cannot watch it
It’s also annoying nearly every tv show moved to Disney plus like Grey’s Anatomy!!
We watched Queen Charlotte last week, quite enjoyed that and just started Griselda but don't think much of it at the moment.
Happy valley , trigger point , Dexter new blood , The glades , code black , 911 lonestar , port protection , swat, true blood, the originals , law & order svu, Hannibal…. So many more
Started to watch Griselda but didn't enjoy it so turned it off, Queen of The South was so much better.
I am watching a mini series called Titanic Blood & Steel. It was made In 2012 and Its brilliant. Never heard of It but found It by chance. Its FREE too on dailymotion and on 1080 too.
I have been watching Good Girls on Netflix and really enjoying it. Not what you expect happens. For a lighter option I love Modern Family. This is on the channel 4 app.
I watched Truthseekers on Amazon Prime a few months ago. That was interesting. It starred Nick Frost as a paranormal investigator. The World's Strangest Mysteries on Amazon Prime. If you like police stuff then maybe Vigil series or 999 What's Your Emergency might be interesting to watch for you. Would Strange But True be of interest to you. Strange But True is a TV show from 1993 with Micheal Aspal as the presenter.
I have to watch all in one go or I forget what happended the week before! Old age I guess. Just finished Reacher. Top class entertainment.
The final season of Curb Your Enthusiasm has launched and so far (2 episodes out already), I've really liked it.
The Rookie police tv show is a great tv series so far with 5 seasons and a 6th one is being made now!
