But It's a Good box....
Other
Does anyone else have a hard time throwing away boxes because 'it's a good box'. Especially those pretty gift set boxes.
Haha this is so me!! They are pretty and you think nah I’ll keep them so I can store items in them but don’t actually use them lol
I’m using one to store skincare items and a Disney cup box using to put phone charging cable and plug in there that sits on top of my bookcase!
kitty88uk lopl I end up with boxes that I try to find things to put in instead of the other way round
DanielleMcK1992 lol haha so how many of these gift Set boxes do you actually have? What do you use them for? Guess it’s better than having to buy them
Yes. I know what you mean. Same as bags. Glad it's not just me. Makes me feel normal. Thanks for that comment
Jerseydrew lol omg same with me with bags!! Lol I have so many of them!! I keep tote bags for shopping and those reusable bags too and plastic bags to use as bin bags
I get worryingly excited when I spy a good box, but I have to be quick to grab it before it gets dumped.
blacklabrador lol in this house we have to convince each other to throw it away
Oooooooh, guilty - you got me on this one. I always like to keep strong small boxes in case I need one to put broken glass in before disposing of it in the refuse bags. I hate to think of a worker cutting themselves. I just like strong boxes of all sorts though as I like to upcycle them with my arts and crafts.
EmmaWright762 same I do crafts as well and they often come in really handy for that
this is so me I am just the same can't help myself, but my husband wants to bin them all. I always think will be handy at some point
sallylester1 yes and then when you bin them you always find you need a box for something lol
I end up reusing boxes to ship stuff and pack it with newspaper scraps to avoid bumps inside.
PhilipMarc ohh they're really good for that, we sell a little on vinted and reuse bags and boxes
Not me l cannot keep/ hoard anything, l tend to put them outside my home with a sign saying 'Free, please take' sometimes l say to myself 'l wished l kept that one' but by then it's too late then
Pinkspirit good job I'm not passing your house or I'd end up with more boxes lol
This is me too, how strange . Ideal for Christmas so you can wrap things up easily or present the gift better.
I find some things that are for gifts are easier to put in a box and wrap, no awkward shapes to get your paper around so always keep hold of different sized boxes for this reason.
HEDGEHOGS it is a very good idea plus it hides what it is if it's an obvious shape
Yes this me too, I keep all cardboard boxes as they act as good packaging in other boxes if you’re sending stuff in the post and I keep the larger boxes for storing stuff - my spare room is a nightmare. I like the other LD members will also use them for putting presents in for ease of wrapping and for disguising
I must admit I have this obsession lol out loft is full of boxes, I always feel at some point they will come on handy
Every time you get rid of a good box you need one, so I believe it is always good to keep a few rather than putting them straight into the recycling, you never know when you will need one.
I recently used an old mower box to empty a cupboard that the plumber might need to go through to fit a water softener and what a useful box it was, I would have had saucepans everywhere if I hadn't kept the box. As it happens he found a space behind the cupboard to put the pipe, but, I didn't know that and wanted to be prepared, just in case.
I saw a cartoon not long ago that said.... "Are you even a mum if you don't have a bag of bags kept somewhere?"
Same with boxes at my house, it's like jenga trying to fit them all inside each other. Oddly they all get used during the year, I don't throw that many away.
Yes I do...I try & save them for giving presents to friends fir Christmas. birthday or to show I care..
Like a few people have said on this post gifts are easier to box up & wrap...
My cats LOVE their boxes ..
They can be found lounging in them by the conservatory window, they have cat beds & have the run of our house but they love their cardboard boxes...
I will keep a good bag as they are always handy for shopping but I never keep boxes. They just get put into the recycling.
