Bollards: A Hazard or a Necessity on Our Roads?

Ask a Question

Hi,

Have any of you motorists noticed the ammount of bollards that have been knocked over, deliberately damaged by hooligans or have just given

up their position in life I live in a Buckinghamshire town where at least 50% of these yellow perils are dead. I do not know who designed these useless plastic articles but it is a fact that they are not fit for purpose. I travel the country quite profussely and I can assure you that it is a national scandal the money being spent on this rubbish item . I have a grandson just learning to drive as I expect many of you do but what are they to make of an island in the middle of a cariageway with two flat bollards and no illumination it would seem that the councils/government have no intention of repairing this infastructor as we have signs that have been awaiting repairs for over three years so I am just ready for action when my member of parliament comes a knocking on my door begging for a vote I will be ony to pleased to tell him its all a load of BOL***S.

I find these particularly dangerous as you can't see them due to the lack of illumination. On a dark night it is impossible to see where the centre of the road is.Where I live quite a few have been flattened.A very poor design and a waste of money.
