What is the Last Thing You Do before You Go to Sleep?
Ask a Question
I wish I could set up a poll here but I'm sure the two most popular things will be be - go on your phone or pray
(Of course smart answers too like - close my eyes...)
For me its to wish that my loved ones remain safe well and healthy!
Give thanks to God for another day ,commit to His care self and loved ones, bid goodnight to my husband(now passed) and then just drift off into the aether.....
That is a good way to end your day and I certainly believe you are heard.
My last thing is to read before turning out the light, it has become such a habit I truly feel I wouldn't be able to just go to sleep without reading until my eyes begin to droop!
I always write down a list of things to do the next day and stick it on my alarm clock to remind me to do it. It usually work.
I usually say "Alexa volume six" and then "Alexa play radio four" a few moments later when radio four (or perhaps some other choice) is playing. "Alexa stop playing in forty minutes". I'm rarely still awake to notice the radio stop playing.
My last thing is to puff my feather pillow up and fold it to raise my head as I’m a side sleeper. I use the term sleeper very loosely as I don’t sleep much.
After I clean my teeth, and get ready for bed I normally read for half an hour, but longer if the book is good
I always rearrange the fruit so that the plums are not getting bashed, there's nothing worse than bashed plums!!
I just give myself math questions and work them out until I go to sleep. Nothing to complicated, percentages, compound interest or how much time you spend eating in an average lifetime.
Not much other than brushing my teeth. I usually try to avoid looking at the clock so I don't realise how little sleep I will get before the kids get up
Cute post! I'd be interested to see other answers.
Feed the rodents, get changed, go to the toilet, occasionally spray my room/pillow with sleep spray (lavender/camomile) talk my partner's ear off, I ask the most unusual and best questions before bed (Or so I clearly think so! haha) it wakes him up, but helps me sleep (oops!)
We say goodnight and tell each other we love each other and then I turn over and fidget, to try and get comfy until I fall to sleep.
If I'm having a particularly bad day, I try and list 3-5 good things that happened in that day or my life.
Put my sleeping mask on - the sort that covers your eyes. I can’t bear any light at all and it must be when I get into ‘rem’ sleep- my cats can notice my eyes moving under my closed eyelids and bat at them - luckily no claws involved!
