What ever happened to the other tablets that helped people stop smoking ? I know one was called champix - i cant remember the name of the other. I wasn’t allowed to take them i have epilepsy and it could interfere with that somehow.
suevernon1968 They always tend to find something better eventually S, so maybe that one was confined to rubbish bins
Back in the day I tried all things.I had a nicotine patch on,nicotine gum in and a *** hanging out the other side of my mouth .None worked. Why? because I wasn't really ready and was only half willing. The day I decided that I had enough of the bondage of cigarette smoking not to mention the huge cost and the stench I knew that I would succeed. That was over 30 years ago. There is no easy fix.
I stopped smoking by using a vape pen but I use it much more than I ever did cigarettes! I would definitely try it.
If I were trying to give up, I would go cold turkey as I did when I quit 12 years ago. For anyone who craves sugar during/after quitting, it's in large part because cigarettes contain sugar (a toxin) which is addictive (more addictive than cocaine)! Also one of the reasons why it can be so difficult to stop smoking
I stopped smoking 5 years ago using champix they worked for me, I was a 40 a day smoker within 6 months completely stopped. about 10 years before that i had a tablet that I can't remember name but it gave me swelling on brain so obviously stopped using it after two weeks.
Champix was taken of the market as one of the side effect was feeling suicidal. i cant wait for this pill, i so want to stop smoking
Just another marketing ploy to fleece you out of money, chewing gum that didn't work, lozenges that taste like , this list is endless

I stopped smoking the good old fashioned way . I never started as it never appealed to me and I do say to the people trying to give up to say good luck to them and hopefully it will be the beginning of a better life .

TOO EXPENSIVE
A 25-day course of 100 pills will cost £115. This could deter some areas from providing the medicine as part of their health services.
