Do You Let Other People's Opinions of You Matter?
Ask a Question
Maybe a generational thing but, for example, my mum could never have her blinds closed all day because 'what would the neighbours think?' Whereas I am more than happy to have a lazy duvet day with the hubbie & the kids and not even think about opening the blinds so based on that, So other people's opinions of you matter & if so, why?
Other peoples options don't matter to me at all they can think whatever they like the only options I care about are the people I'm close to
With respect to what the neighbours think about having my blinds/ curtains open or closed is no one business. I do care if people can’t look after their front gardens.
My mum is the same about the curtains and i agree personally i don’t care. But then i think younger generations care about people’s opinions of them in other ways, that perhaps the older generation didn’t.
For me I can’t say I don’t care at all, but as i get older i care less and less.
I try not to. Thinks round my house I don't care what the neighbours think. I certainly don't care about what people think of my dress sense. I'm a goth/hippie so either dressed in black or mad printed clothes. My colleagues and kids at work love what I wear and so do the parents.
I don't like most of my neighbours, so I don't care what they think, they probably talk about us, some people have nothing better to do
When you reach my age you don't give a damn about others opinions of you, not that I ever did. As long as I know I am not a bad person and do the best I can in the world then why should it matter. People will think what they will.
People can think whatever they like about me, their opinion doesn't bother me one way or the other. I know what kind of person I am.
Sometimes, if it's hurtful, as I'm very sensitive and not very confident. I'm also very independant and if somebody was intentionally hurtful to my face etc, I wouldn't let it go.
