My morning detox drink:
1 glass of warm water + 1 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar(ACV) + 1 tbsp Raw Organic Honey + 1 pinch of Cinnamon Powder
Mix it up.. drink it up..!
Benefit - It is said to burn fat, aid digestion. However, daily exercise is also important!
Detox fruit infused water:
Plain water is boring! :( Jazz it up with several different variations and make drinking water fun!

My daily go to mix is Lemon & Ginger slices in water!
My fav of all time.. Avocado Hair Mask (but I have lots lots more that I have tried and tested):
I have super long thick hair so this is my go to hair mask which I apply at least once a month!
- Ripe Avocado (the ones with yellow stickers are best as they are ripe and cheap too..yaay)
- Honey
- Organic coconut oil
- Castor oil (very important for hair growth)
Whip up a smoothie type consistency - I use my Nutribullet (nutribullet loves it when I tweet them my hair mask smoothie pics lol), go crazy with it over your hair and scalp, its a messy process but well worth it, cover head with shower cap (another reason to 'rescue'the shower caps from hotel Johnny ), drink the ACV cuppa or fruit infused water and chill for 30 minutes or 1 hour, wash and voila... super shiny, soft hair - flick it all about like they do in the hair commercials! hahaha
nemosays ooh let me know how that goes please and recipe can i do this with my daughter thinking girly night is it ok for kids ?
Bargain28 yes ofcourse it is ok. Girly night hair masks... oh wow! Can I come too? Lol! Ok so here's what you'll need.
Eggs - whip em up
Oil blends - castor oil & coconut oil. If you don't have castor oil go with olive oil and coconut oil so ratio of 1:2
Warm the oil as it penetrates the hair follicles better. Mix with egg. Make sure not too hot oil or else egg will cook.. lol!
I fill up a condiment bottle which has a nozzle so can aim into the scalp with ease. So just whack it on the hair, cover with shower cap, leave for an hour or so, wash and voila!! Flick your hair like you're in a hair ad cos 'your worth it'!
If it's homemade it has to be food, food and more food. Here's a time-served favourite recipe of mine for Veggie Falafel:
Falafel
1 x 400g tin of mixed beans
1 x 400g tin of chickpeas
1 lemon
1 tbsp harissa
1 heaped tsp allspice
1 heaped tbsp plain flour
1 bunch of fresh coriander
Optional: sesame seeds
Olive oil
Sides
2 mixed-colour peppers
4 spring onions
8 small wholewheat tortillas
1 tbsp chilli sauce
250g low-fat cottage cheese
Optional: pickled red cabbage
Salsa
1 big handful of mixed-colour ripe tomatoes
Β½β1 fresh red chilli
Β½ a clove of garlic
1 lime
SERVES 4 | 602 CALORIES
Preparation:
Ingredients out
Food processor (bowl blade)
Large frying pan, medium heat
Griddle pan, high heat
Method:
1. Drain the beans and chickpeas and put them into the processor.
2. Finely grate in the lemon zest, then add a pinch of salt and pepper, the harissa, allspice, flour and coriander stalks (reserving the leaves).
3. Blitz until smooth, scraping down the sides of the processor if needed.
4. Scrape out the mixture and use clean, wet hands to quickly divide and shape it into 8 patties about 1.5cm thick.
5. Put 1 tablespoon of oil into the frying pan and add the falafels, turning when golden and crisp. Coat with sesame seeds.
6. Rip the seeds and stalks out of the peppers, tear each one into bite-sized chunks and put on the griddle pan with the trimmed and halved spring onions and a pinch of salt and pepper, turning when charred.
7. Put the tomatoes, chilli and half the coriander leaves into the processor.
8. Squash in the unpeeled garlic through a garlic crusher, squeeze in the lime juice, whiz until fine, then season to taste and pour into a serving dish.
9. Pop the tortillas into the microwave (800W) for 45 seconds while you marble the chilli sauce into the cottage cheese.
10. Squeeze the juice of half the zested lemon over the charred veggies, then take with the falafels to the table, scattering everything with the rest of the coriander.
11. Let everyone assemble his or her own wraps, and serve with pickled red cabbage, if you like.
aww lovely! Thanks for sharing clareemckenzie I have tons of food recipes too! Most of them are Indian recipes - love cooking!
clareemckenzie will do... trying a different one today - Roasted aubergine curry! I see them on fb and then go and try them out and take lots of pics... I have tons and tons of pics that I think I could start my own IG Food Recipe page...hahahahaha!
clareemckenzie It looks like a really easy recipe. I am going to make a note of it and try get the ingredients when I go shopping later. We are having a staff lunch next week, so might make them for that.
Hey clareemckenzie I saw this recipe and then made it on my gas stove! It was amazing!
My pic:
Love it. It's the Friday special tonight, as always, Gram Bread Pizza. I will take a photo and post later. I would be laughing too much if I tried to video it. Plus, I am not sure my partner would want to be filmed flipping the bases. Always hit and miss. Many laughs though...
clareemckenzie ooh gram bread? Never even heard of that combo for pizza Base! Yes do post pics!
I did an Asian cooking week recently. This was a Char Siu pork bun, chicken rendang curry and stir fried veg. The hardest thing was the bun.
However, I discovered last weekend Iceland sell Char Siu duck buns and they're good!
Love them... the ones in wagas are amazing! Although never made them as buns but have made them with rice flour with a sweet jaggery and coconut filling before, so like a steamed dumpling.
Will have to try the Iceland ones
Love char Sui buns or chicken ones but can never get the buns so white or fluffy do you have a secret recipe Tom?
So here is last night's tea... My version of a Friday night Pizza.
The base is made with gram flour. 140g flour: 140g water. Whisk and make like a pancake. Load up. Cook 12 mins at 200 degrees. Enjoy!
Oh wow.. ktc is a staple in my house... make spicy pancakes out of those but never thought of pizza Base! Looks fab clareemckenzie
clareemckenzie I'm into gluten free Spelt flour... works great so far! But will defo try gram for pizza!
Cool this is flour from chickpeas right? Great idea as a carb reducing substitute. Pretty much makes pizza a very healthy choice!
