Lets Talks School Dinners.....
Ask a Question
What do you think of the dinners at your kids school?
Do you think it's worth what you pay and are they getting stuff they like to eat?
I used to work as a dinner for a short while and I was allowed to bring leftovers home. It was so bad I never did.
I admire the Southampton headmaster who wrote to pupils parents apologising for the disgusting food being served at his school. The story was reported on national news yesterday.
Ones where I am are awful. There's no where for a proper kitchen to be put so it's cooked offsite and brought in. So it's dried out. Even those serving it say its horrible and they are employed by the company cooking it.
The ones at my sons nursery and the adjoining primary school are really good. The meals at the secondary where I work are really good too.
My daughter is at primary school and she loves her school dinners which are cooked onsite. She’s getting some of the lovely puddings that myself and my partner remember eating when we were at school like butterscotch tart They even have arctic roll too, which seems to have disappeared from supermarkets.
I used to love school dinners when i was younger many moons ago
Mind you i loved the puddings too , tapioca and semolina were two of my favourites along with jam roly poly and custard , but i know not many people are fans of the other two mentioned , i think they are almost none existent today
When my boy was in primary they outsauced the dinners. They were dry, cold and lumpy not nice at all.
Well my kids have always had pack lunches, always have always will, I can't comment on the school meals
