Little Toddler Made My Day

Other

Yesterday out driving, i stopped at a crossing to let a dad and his toddler son cross over. The dad raised his hand in acknowledgement and his little boy half turned toward me and waved and smiled the whole way across, he was definitely no more than 2 years old.

Then today i spent time with granddaughter and her son in the library for a kiddies club and again a little chinese lad sitting next to me was reaching for my hand and smiling broadly. Little things certainly do mean a lot. Would it make you smile too?

Definitely. It restores your faith in mankind when such young children have such good manners.

suevernon1968 Sadly there was a mum at the group who had a sleeping toddler on her lap and my Granddaughter and I smiled across at at him, so cute, and at mum but she just glared and looked away. I've always believed in children see, children do, I just hope that little boy doesn't copy mum's unfriendliness.

Lynibis there really is no need for that is there. Its the age old dilemma of nature v nuture. Hopefully the child wont like the way his mum behaves when everyone else around him is so smiley and friendly.

A friend popped in the other day and my son turned up unexpectedly with his daughter. As my friend was leaving my granddaughter went to her and gave her the biggest hug, my friend almost cried.

Pjran I believe small children are very intuitive, they seem to know if someone is good or bad or needs a hug or is not responsive. I know exactly how your friend felt as many of the kids in care we transported used to run out and wrap their arms round me after contact. Parents weren't too happy but I am afraid I just thought....well if you were better parents they wouldn't be in care.....

MelissaLee1 I just remember my own childhood of being raised by my unloving father to age 10 then a stepmother who saw me as competition, being in boarding school etc and it has given me a subconscious awareness of a child's feelings. I make sure I smile at any child I come across!😀
