I would love to live on a narrowboat,' unfortunately so would gnats. The little sods love me for some reason and every summer I had to cover myself in lotion to stop them from biting me and making my life a misery. If it werent for that I would love it.

I wouldnt choose to live on a narrow boat. I would find it a little claustrophobic.

We did consider it at one time but we felt we weren't nimble enough so yes, definitely, if we were younger!

I wouldn't want to live on a narrow boat. I would find it for too claustrophobic. Plus my husband and son are both tall so they wouldn't fit very easily. I like my space too much.

I love the idea of it but the reality of it I'd hate. Just cos of lack of space.

Surprised by some of the comments as narrowboats can be quite spacious especially compared to something like a motorhome but yes to live like that permanently might not be that great but at least the garden outside is always changing and plenty of space there. I quite like the idea of the narrowboat lifestyle for perhaps a couple of months for the novelty but not sure I'd like to do it permanently. I think I'd prefer a motorhome though even though much smaller just because it gives total freedom of where you can go and I'd want to spend more time at beaches. Also with a motorhome you can have a tent outside that massively increases available space when you are pitched up somewhere.

I am planning to buy a narrow boat within the next few months to live on. I think I’ll love the lifestyle and it will be a lot cheaper than buying a house or paying rent.

Still undecided if i’m going to buy a project boat or what that’s already done up n

Although mooring fees have to be paid, owning a canal boat could cut down on living expenses as rental and mortgage payments are very high. The life style is not for me but I would consider a log cabin in the countryside.

I would love to! Would just be worried about getting on and off as I’m on crutches. Would also be happy in a big static caravan!
