How Long Do You Keep Birthday Cards up For?

Ask a Question

Daughter had a birthday last week but insists she wants to keep them up longer. Usually we do a week. It is a shame when they come down and what to do with them.

It varies to be honest. Sometimes it will be a few days, others it will be a week. Sometimes it will be when I remember to take them down. I still have my mother's day card up.

I think mine end up in the bin after a week or so. My wife likes to keep things tidyish!

MelissaLee1 Happy Birthday for yesterday. I usually keep them up for a week but I am always on holiday for my birthday so when I get home I have more cards to open.

May 6th birthday & late brother kept his up for 3 days, then Mum would put my sister's up,for her May 9th birthday they would stay up 7 days...

Then window sill would be card free for 8 days til my birthday on 24th, I would keep my birthday cards up 3 days then Mum would have her's up for her 27th May birthday!

janphoenix51 We were a bit like like this, my son is 2nd December, one of my daughter is the 8th, mine is the 10th then Christmas so they did overlap a bit.

My partner keeps all her bloody cards lol, it’s a nightmare. Me as soon as my birthday is over, they come down and go in the bin. Unless they are really special.

HappyComperZoe ...I used to keep all our daughter's up til her being 10, for the last 15 years I have just kept the special ones, the rest have gone to recycle but if they have nice decoupage pictures or ribbon or fancy buttons on , I add them to our daughter's Craft Boxes so she can use them in her Card Making..

Partner's brother sent us a card with a Portadown banner on, I took it off & added it to daughter's Craft Box...

martinlufc5637 We have recently cut down on the extended family. Especially when the ‘kids’ hit a certain age. Unless there is money in it, kids aren’t interested!

Usually a few days then they get burnt unless they are especially nice or from someone who may not be around for much longer

It’s going to sound bad but that day only and never see them again

MrSaran That actually sounds sad as well as bad. Why only one day? I do a week and do tend to keep the specials one, why? I don’t know.
