Man Had Skull Removed 4 times so Doctors Could Wash His Brain of an Infection

In the News

The advance in medicine never ceases to amaze me

This young man from New York had a skateboard accident which resulted in a brain injury and infection

Doctors had to operate on his skull 4 times removing pieces of it each time to enable it to be washed and remove an infection he contracted under the artificial skull

In the end he had no skull left and he now has titanium mesh which acts as the artificial skull

Besides all this trauma he needed facial reconstruction

I dread to think of the cost of all this as it is normally paid by private health insurance as most hospital treatments in the US are

Although whether he has insurance or enough to meet the cost might be a problem as his girlfriend launched a GoFundMe to raise money for his medical bills
