Mascara. Are They All Useless?
Ask a Question
I very rarely wear make up, just for special occasions. I seem to buy them often as they hardly show even though I get black or dark brown and I am blonde!
They seem to be full of air and not much else and I am far too old to wear false eyelashes.
When I was young you could buy cake mascara with an application brush, are they still around? I would love to look as if I have eyelashes without having to put on about 10 applications!
I don't wear make up anymore. Used to wear it all the time, don't bother now. I always used to curl my eyelashes first and then use Mascara. Wiggle it from side to side whilst moving it up as it gets more on each lash.
I gave up wearing it as I didn't enjoy putting it on, hated taking it off, didn't have the time or the money to spend on it. I don't miss wearing it. Will wear it for special occasions, although haven't been to one of those since before our son was born.
MrsCraig that's one of my grievances, the cost. They are so expensive for so little Blackstuff and so hard to get out of the cylinder. In the Winter I lay it on a radiator hoping to make it more runny. The fact I don't wear it much means I get even less value for money as you're meant to ditch it after 3 months!
tara73ziva I will have to look out for it more keenly. I so rarely buy make-up so have probably missed it.
Lynibis there quite a few companies that sell it I’ve just added the fist one I found so you can see and there’s a variety of prices too
I’ve tried numerous amount of mascaras, love the maybelline sky high one in brown, Amazon cheaper than shops. Primark mascaras are actually worth trying as they do dupes..false lash queen is a Charlotte Tilbury dupe
I find that mascaras never seem to do what they say on the packet, I don't wear much make up these days but may use a bit of mascara once a week, i've used expensive ones that have been bought for me and cheap ones, personally don't see any difference but no longer like how it sits on my lashes if that make sense. Probably just getting too old haha.
I hardly wear Mascara, I lost the only one that didn't make my eyes water at our local bowling alley on my sisters 45th birthday..
I wear very little make up or none at all .
I don't use Mascara these
days as I can't find one I like
Benefit and Chanel are my favourite mascara brands, expensive but last ages. You could be really cheeky and ask the beautician on those counters if they have some samples to try.
Mascara doesn't have to be expensive. The brand Essence do some decent mascaras for as little £2 or £3.
Benefit are my favourites. I agree with PJran. Ask at a benefit counter in a store for samples.
Do you ever attempt to brush your lashes and use a lash curler? Then put mascara on? As curlers can really help add some definition and make them more even. The more you do it then less you should have to. I've found if my eye lashes are quite straight, mascara doesn't look like it does much, as soon as they are curled they look much nicer.
I can’t remember the last time I wore makeup but I can imagine the amount of money I have saved from not buying it. One of my daughters is the expert in makeup, spends a fortune at MAC. She would highly recommend them.
I wear make up but rarely bother with mascara. Usually end up with painful lash in my eye and then smudges everywhere trying to get it out.
