The Milk Fruit - Have You Ever Tried This?
Other
I’ve never seen this fruit before, and when I read the description for it in the shop, it literally translates to ‘milk fruit’
and it does indeed have a milky colouring to it, with a slight creaminess to it - a bit like mangosteen
the original price was approximately £4 for 2, but I got it at a discounted price of just under £1.50 as it’s getting over ripe - not sure if I can find it cheaper elsewhere?
Lol tried to upload a different, close-up image for this but got the message that it contains ‘adult content’??? Oh well, hope this photo is clear enough
Hi hspexy I've never heared this fruit be for. And I 've not seen it in any my supermarkets. Dos it tase nice. I cant drink milk. So i cant eat this. It looks like a beetroot. Is the £4.00 for just one.
hi nicolajaynehend yes it’s about £4 for 2. It looked a bit like a dark Apple, but the flesh was soft to the touch, like a ripened tomato. The inside is fleshy, a bit like a persimmon. The juice is milky, but you should be ok with it, as it’s not real lactose milk. Just looks like milk dripping from it
hspexy I will try it when I see it. I've not seen it in the super market hear yet. We are very slow up here it might be next year that's happed befor. Looking forward to trying it.
Its more likely to drop on your face. The milky juice sorts of oozes out as you try to eat it. Lots of innuendos can come from this (I googled it and sometimes it’s referred to as breast milk fruit!)
It was actually quite a nice fruit, a bit like a persimmon/Sharon fruit, but not as sweet. It has a both a dragon fruit and durian consistency, so it’s both crisp and creamy. A very unusual fruit. I recommend it
