Necklaces Can Cause Serious Injury if in contact with Phone Charger wires

In the News

The injuries to this poor teenager are terrible in what you might think is a freak accident

He was leaning across to check his phone while in bed when his neckchain came in contact with the chargers extension cable plug prongs and caused serious burns to his neck

Most people are already aware not to use your mobile while it is plugged in, some have exploded due to faulty batteries , but here is another scenario

So there is a warning here, dont use extension cables if charging your phone by your bedside and be careful if wearing a neckchain , this dangling chain can cause a serious injury if it comes in contact with anything exposed electrically

My phone seldom if ever comes into my bedroom.I go in there to read books and sleep .I watch the odd film but it's kind of an exclusion zone lately lol.

JLouM I know most people put their mobiles on speaker nowadays but imagine if you are wearing metallic earrings and put the phone close to your ear while charging it, another potential danger J

And yet another candidate for the Darwin Awards. I bet they never made that mistake again. Always best not to wear neckchains in bed anyway as they can damage the skin tissue around the neck. This may not be a concern for the youth of today, but they might appreciate it in their later years.
