New Type of Carparks to Be Very Cautious of Parking At
Other
The other day I was at an industrial car park for shopping and I noticed that the sign had changed.
I am being notified of more and more of these and I need to share this with as many people as possible. I have already come across 3 already.
Basically how they used to work with a 3 hour free parking to do your shopping, that remains the same, however after 7pm it changes to only 10 minutes before issuing a £100 fine! Bear in mind that on these estates there is usually at least 1 eating restaurant that is open until midnight.
These are privately run and operate on a camera system.
Many people have already been stung by these and it is vital to be aware next time you are shopping at one near you.
Thank you for the warning, I will look out for this. Twice I have been caught out when going to Toby by forgetting to put my car reg in the computer screen. I returned asking Manager if he could verify that I booked and ate a meal there and he told me to ignore the parking ticket I received as it was private land and there was nothing they could do. This confused me and I am not saying others should do this as it may not always be the case. But I anxiously waited for several months and nothing more ever came of it.
Lynibis You don’t even get that option with this new style car parking system! Which is ridiculous if there is a restaurant/Takeaway on the same site!
They are doing these to stop people racing at night
jillylovesyou I hope it doesn't change round here. Parking is so expensive but at least it stops at 6pm so evening outings are free to park.
This is disgusting and is clearly designed to catch people out. The government needs to step in and police these private parking firms a lot more because they are really ripping people off.
jms19 I only noticed the sign going in because there was a traffic jam, any quicker I would’ve missed it! At night when it’s dark easy to miss the sign, as it’s so new people would simply not be aware!!!!
