Starbucks new coffee has only just gone on sale in Italy but people are already complaining about the after effects
The coffee is infused with olive oil which Starbucks say gives it a smoother texture
Unfortunately the same cannot be said about the texture or sensation people are having after imbibing it
It is sending them running to the loo
They are planning to sell this in the UK, US, Japan, and the Middle East in the near future, but i think i will be giving this one a miss and give it a no star buck

I've seen this and it's the fact they are bringing it to the UK. Nice. Not planning on trying it myself
SaveMeSunday Now that might explain a few things S, i am sure i had some in the past 
Is olive oil a laxative? I wonder if it is some other minor ingredient that they put in to mix the ingredients maybe an emulsifier? I've probably gone into Starbucks about 4 times in my life, it's nice enough but you can have a large plateful of salad with dressings for the same calories as some of their very sweetened coffee drinks. Still lovely though but you can probably have the same experience at home by having a coffee with a dollop of cream in and about six spoons of sugar added to it.
BonzoBanana For me it is just the thought of someone adding olive oil to coffee, it just doesn't appeal B
I must admit, I don't fancy a coffee which contained olive oil, Starbucks charge a fortune for a cup of coffee so the least you can expect is 100% coffee beans
beccatavender They can save the olive oil for that Mediterranean diet B, and just to put on salads
Mmm I love my coffee. I love Italy/Italian and olive oil in some cooking. I do not fancy it in my coffee though, no thank you.
telmel I had olive oil in sandwiches once because I ran out of spread. I think it was ham sandwiches with a bit of salad in there and very nice it was too with olive oil. Definitely agree about cornflakes and olive oil sounding pretty awful as a combination.
BonzoBanana I don't mind it in sandwiches B , if you have tinned tuna sandwiches you can end up having this anyway if they are in oil and not brine
I am not a fan of Starbucks nonsensical coffees and their price tags for just coffee beans and water. I think adding olive oil will make the coffee go further and result in more profit for the company directors.
