This is a Nice Site but.............
Competitions
I purposely don't do social media of any kind. I have tried them but human nature constantly shows it's bad side. On here people are nice and I can indulge my chatty inner self without fear of being sworn at or abused with the written word. But it does seem that some people are insidiously trying to undermine those of us who play by the rules.
I am seeing and hearing of posts being reported as expired and then being reposted, I assume by the reporter, thereby gaining another's points. Comps being reported for no good reason and so forth. Happened to me today on the excuse of info missing, when everything was as it should be. Anyone else experiencing this?
Nope. Someone was mean to me on here but just let it go, I don't like the drama. Guess you get idiots everywhere.
That really is the best way, if you rise to it you end up being same and it perpetuates the bad behaviour. People soon give up if no one responds.
I’ve had issues in the past but not so much these days, thankfully. I don’t post many competitions so I guess it doesn’t apply to me. The majority of the people here are welcoming and accommodatin, so it’s a shame if that ever changes
Sometimes, those who report posts as 'expire' do to gain points. To fix that, LD staff should just remove points from that entirely.
LD staff did make YouTube links banned to be posted as a freebie/deal so if you want to share something good (like a 1-3 month trial), you have to bypass by using "google (dot) com" or something of the likes.
Yes i think i would prefer a no points for reporting system. That way only genuine things would be reported. I don't report but have sometimes commented on a comp if there is something not right. My biggest bug bear is when a comp states website and it is actually gleam or rafflecopter!
I reported something that expired and there was some points given which I didn't know existed. Then those points got taken off me as apparently the comp hadn't expired - but it had! I wasn't too impressed. So I'm not bothering to report anything I see here now. There's been other times I've reported things in the past and nothing was done, so sod it. I'm not reporting anything now. I don't spend as long as I did here at each day anymore.
It does seem to be a bit hit and miss. Another thing I hate are comps that forget to give a closing date but you have to put one in when sharing, therefore guessing. Deals are worse as they often run until supplies gone and dont put a specific end date. There should be an option to put 'no end date given'.
I had one person be rather rude to me about an opinion I put on a post, I just went and clicked the ignore button and haven't seen anything from them since. I had someone expire one of my deal posts the other day, I just went and unexpired it. They are the only issues I have had since being on here. I don't tend to report things unless they have geuinely expired, I didn't realise there was a points system for reporting things though.
Hi MrsCraig I am by no means an expert but if you go into dashboard you will see 'more about points' above the big yellow rectangle that gives the percentage you are near to your next reward. Click on that and scroll down and you will find a list of all the things you receive points for.
I listed a comp that was removed then loaded by someone else, but I must admit it was dealt with by the moderators fairly. The comp was actually listed 7 months ago ( I didn’t realise ) so my listing and the listing after me was removed so I was happy with that. However on another comp I listed, a few people thought it was a scam and aired their opinion on the thread, not necessary in my opinion.
