Have You Noticed How Journalists Are Not Checking What They Print?

Ask a Question

Peter, 50, and his wife Emily, 51, have welcomed a baby girl into the world. The newborn arrived on Tuesday April 2 and 51-year-old Peter and Emily, 34, shared the wonderful news exclusively with the Mirror this week.

The above was online from the Mirror. What is the real ages of either of them?

Just another thing that makes me see red. I hate bad writing and I can't believe something like that can get past the writer, editor, printer etc.

Lynibis Standards have gone right down. I remember when my children were in secondary school, the teachers were not worried about spelling mistakes anymore as long as they did the work.

eyeballkerry I used to correct my granddaughter's English writing and essays as she said teachers weren't allowed because of making pupils feel bad! She is an English teacher now and is ultra hot on spelling and grammar with an Instagram account pointing out incorrect things she spots....amongst other things.

Agree, it's sloppy at best. Iv noticed a vast majority of these type of stories are just stolen from social media posts & written up as if they are 'exclusives'. Hardly journalism is it!

Yes I knew a story of somebody who got put in the papers and the story wasn't true but they can get away with whatever they write

Yes, I am forever reading things out to Mr T, and asking him what he thinks is wrong with it! Journalism has gone down the pan, it is so sloppy.
