How Often Do You Buy New Phone?
Ask a Question
I’m only on my second one, I had a Samsung Galaxy S2 before that had a Sony Ericsson lol and have had this iPhone 6S Plus since 2016. Only have new one since old one broke lol
There are people who often get the latest phones upgrades if they can afford it but to be honest they are getting more and more expensive!
Soon I will need a new phone cause they battery isn’t as good can’t believe the prices of them!
Sony Ericsson, then just sony Nokia's, lg, iPhone, Samsung's and morotora this is my second Motorola I'm using now
Me too! I have really old iPhone 6s and the battery is terrible. I have got used apple iPhone now so would like another one. As you say though SO expensive!! My husband bought a Motorola on nectar points. I might have to leave apple.
Not very often at all.Mum just got me one for my birthday but was the first in over 5 years.I was still using an old Alcatel!.I have an Oppo now.I love it.
MelissaLee1 I see that’s nice birthday gift !! I’ve not heard of Oppo before what does it look like and where is it made from?
kitty88uk Not sure where they're made but it kinda looks like a shiny I phone.I bid for a refurbished one on e bay.£70 very well spent.
Every 2 years for me, I use Motorola pro 40, when the next version comes out I will buy the new one
martinlufc5637 nice ! I keep hearing Motorola seems like popular phone! What colour is yours? And have to look it up
Phones are too expensive
kitty88uk it's black, I purchased it from a deal on here, I think it was £650 reduced from £800
I’ve had my current phone for around 4 years and it cost me £420 so i’m pretty happy with how long it’s lasted
RegularComper91 yes I’m the same only get a new phone when one I’m using has problems! The prices are damn ridiculous!!
Very rarely.
I have a Samsung A52s which has great specs and I use it to play GameCube/Dreamcast games, but Samsung released a buggy system update which made my phone software malfunction in the past. Still happens although not too common and the near top doesn't work.
I've decided just to buy a Pixel 7a. That was my final Samsung.
PhilipMarc is that so that’s annoying system update affecting the use of phone!! too many choices of brands dunno which one to get, all damn expensive!
kitty88uk I thought Samsung was a reliable brand, but in my experience, nope. Still, for most people this doesn't happen.
I'd not recommend a Xiaomi phone because based from their official website, they only offer 2 years worth of security updates and that's not really a whole lot.
Google Pixel, Samsung, Nothing Phone, Honor, Nokia (maybe).
My last three phones have all been on two year contracts but I time the replacements around what new phones are available - or to be more precise what Google Pixel model is out. I might go early for my next phone as my wife needs a better phone so I can upgrade and she gets my old one!
didbygraham my brother did that he got iPhone 13 like two years ago, mums phone is old 7 I think and she’s now using brothers and he got the iPhone 15! We all buy a sim free phone, too expensive
I tend to upgrade my phone when I see a bargain offer and it could be 6 months or 3 years. I've had my current phone about 8 months I think and would estimate I won't update for at least a year maybe 2.
BonzoBanana yeah we used to do that too but have chosen to go sim free phones and family chooses a sim with contract that suits them
kitty88uk I should of said I upgrade the phone independently of the contract. I never buy phones with contracts attached to them.
Pjran much cheaper but by how much? Yeah I did think that too second hand iphones no idea I know someone who works at apple can get discount it’s how I got this current one, Costco sells them too and you get cashback offer is what I heard, John Lewis had price reductions too
Even with discount it’s still expensive no idea where to buy lol
I buy one every 12months or so depending if I see a great bargain like this Samsung s21 5g refurbishment £270 at the time and it's like new and can't tell the difference. Amazon refurbishment and pay installments
I think I get a new one every 2-3 years. Only got my new one on launch day because I went swimming in the sea for too long with the previous, it did not work well after that. I am however always tempted to get a new one every time one comes out but don't because there is not much of an upgrade now and it's really expensive.
I have had mine for over three years so I dont normally buy a new one. I get mine from ebay as a grade A as I am not the one to pay a ridiculous amount off my carrier which you`ll be paying forever plus your monthly pay out to them.
We only buy a new phone when it stops working our last Sony phones lasted 7 years before the batteries would not change up any more and my power button fell off the phone was going to get it repaired but they wanted over £80 for a new battery and new button
I only get a new one when I have to. My family informs me my phone needs upgrading and certain apps etc that I use will not work anymore. I have had a few phones over the years.
Every time a new one comes out.Latest is I phone pro max plus 1TB ,decent but at £1,599 and no extras ...cover,charger etc I'm a bit disappointed
Got the cheapest smartphone from Argos 3 years ago for about £57 Alcatel 1 and then a few months later it broke down so after I got it to work again thought it's best to get a back up phone so a few days before the black Friday sale I saw the same phone new version Alcatel 1 from Currys PC world for £35 so I got.
Now I got 2 phones but battery runs out really quick.
So next time am getting a Nokia CO2 which am told does not run out of battery all day and charges really quick.
Cheapest now is just under £70.
When any of my phones break down
Paulyousef28 my dad has the Nokia c02 and it's does well for him I find it slow when I'm doing something for him on it
Paulyousef28 honestly can't fault it for him I just couldn't use it myself long term you can get them now for £60 at carphone warehouse or currys
I've only changed my phone if the battery is running out of life or the storage has got too low, about every 3 years
Not very often if I can help it, I use my phone until something forces me into buying a new one.
Received my Pixel 7a a few days ago and it's all set up now. Just a shame it has no SD card slot.
This phone has support until May 2028 so that's good news.
Also, it can run console emulators such as Dreamcast, GCN, PS2, Switch (apparently).
