Have I Been Out Of Order?

Ask a Question

I just don't know what to think anymore .....

I was on a money saving page on FB yesterday where someone posted that they'd bought 17 bars of shampoo soap for a ridiculously low price from a supermarket.

I commented that their family must have very smelly hair as they bought so much followed by a '🤣'.

Poster took offence and admin of the group deleted my comments.

Is the OP right in saying 'Thanks for the narky comment' and was admin right to delete?

It's been on my mind for hours 🤔

I saw that post too. I remember thinking I would have bought that amount as it was a brilliant bargain. I don't think there was anything wrong with your comment, it was clearly meant to be a joke. I wouldn't worry about it.

Leannexxx good for you, if they think it's ok for them to open their mouths and let their bellies rumble, then it's certainly ok for you to let them have it, no doubt they'll complain and try to have toddlers banned 😊

Leannexxx I was the same, I always took my kids with me rather than leave them with baby sitters, in fact I actually love hearing kids laugh so, your child would've made my day.

Leannexxx Laughter should of course be outlawed, especially in public places .Children should be actively discouraged from being happy innit lol.🙃

Leannexxx I share that sentiment. I have the skin of a rhino but I hate it when people turn on innocents.

Leannexxx ...The play was a FAMILY event so she should expect noise from babies & toddlers unless school BANS all the babies & toddlers from watching their siblings in the school play.

I would have bought lots too but I would take any criticism after all if you post it on social media then you know someone will say greedy or some such remark. I wouldn’t have made your comment though!

I certainly wouldn't have taken offence but maybe come back with a humorous comment like 'yeh, we own a fish and chip shop'!

It sickens me that fb felt the need to delete when you consider all the scams, swearing, insults etc that are all over that awful site. My advice? Close your account, life is happier without fb.

Offence is taken, not given.

Just be yourself. It's up to others whether or not they want to take a joke. 🙂

I'm not on Facebook but I don't think you've done anything wrong. Too many snowflakes take things much too seriously, they don't know how to joke. Here's something to cool them down 😀

I think the rolling about laughing emoji tells us it was a joke, there's a lot of people who post pictures of the multiple freebies that they get, they almost seem to be bragging but if you comment on them, like, no wonder we can't get any, they complain and admin sides with them too.

I hate that feeling, without a laughing emoji, I could maybe understand someone being offended, but that wasn't the case. I find it surprising that they think they won't get comments on over buying when they post it all over social media, what do they expect?

The problem is the "woke" admin who allow a/the poster to be easily offended and complain. Guess what? The poster is always right regardless.

That is a ridiculously amount to purchase. I hate seeing people in stores grabbing all the bargains and leaving nothing for anyone else. I see this a lot in supermarkets and think your never going to eat 20 cakes before the best before date!

eyeballkerry ...Yes,my friend & I watched 2 woman buy a whole trolley of Strawberry Punnets in Tesco at the wealthiest part of Sheffield years ago,my friend got herself one & handed one to me before they took it!

I HATE greed,if I find bargains anywhere I take only what I need & make sure I leave enough for others..

People these days don’t have a sense of humour. The world has gone mad. Try not to worry about it.

I wouldn’t give it a second thought, was obviously meant to be a joke (certainly seemed that way to me) just a shame they don’t appear to have much of a sense of humour
