I definitely don't walk my dogs in the heat..that would be just cruel..so yes it gets my vote and they are probably the same ones that don't pick up after them.

Kitty10 The area I am in we don't find much dog muck being left but my old area (that was a poorer area) was absolutely littered with it, it was horrendous.

I am not a dog owner but it makes my blood boil when I see them being walked on paving, not even the grass, in the heat of the day. Not sure how to prevent it though.

Lynibis Totally agree with you but there are a lot of cruel dog owners. One of worse peeves is people leaving their dogs at home in crates while out at work.

eyeballkerry oh my goodness not even heard of thought of that one, it's horrendous. Why do these people want a dog in the first place😥

eyeballkerry Crate Training is humane, it isn't a cruel practice 🙂 My dog is young and is in a crate when we go out and at night, to keep him safe, the cats safe and stop our home being destroyed. During the day, it's open and he goes and lies in there of his own accord, takes his treats into there and put himself to bed there at night.

SamGoodship I think they more meant crating a dog all day while they're at work. Which is cruel

Lynibis We used to look after someone’s dogs while they were away. We would go in morning and evening. But these poor dogs were in cages, that were not even big enough for them to stretch out. I did think about reporting them.

No from my view. They know when to walk and when not to

Latest000 They know, but walk the dogs anyway in the too hot weather, sadly.

Leannexxx Popping to a close by grass verge for just the toilet trip is a different thing to walking them over the fields near me, tying them up outside tesco and walking them around the local shops.

SamGoodship oh I don't agree with that just your topic said walking so that's what I commented on when I would take my dog on in this weather she had little shoes on and I'd take a big water and bowl after the walk I'd put water around her neck

My dad has two dogs and when its too warm he will pick them both up as they are small and carry them over the road to small field of grass so they can do their stuff as he doesn't have garden they can go in. As soon as they're out and done they're straight back inside. Curtains are closed, fan in on and they have plenty of water. My dad will limit them going outside when its warm.

Considering we are supposed to be an animal loving society, and I'm a dog owner it is just insane that idiots (sorry) feel the need to walk their dogs in this heat, the same applies to anyone who leaves their dog tied up outside a shop..Aaargh

Pinkspirit Back when i was young (20 odd years ago) everyone used to tie their dogs up outside shops. Then there was a spate of dog-nappings and we stopped. I couldn't imagine doing it now!

SamGoodship yep l remember this many moons ago when l was younger too 😊, l still see it now and will stop and talk/stroke the dog sometimes until the owner appears, l worry if it's a pup as it can be stolen to sell on or the older the dog l worry if it will be stolen as a bait dog... it doesn't bear thinking about 😥

Well surely it is some sort of breech of animal welfare when it's too hot as it will burn their paws poor pups. They should be walked early morning or at night when it's cooler

I have 2 furbabys who absolutely love the sun 🌞 but not to walk in they sit in the garden for a wee while then lye under the gazebo I don't believe in cages for them its so cruel keeping them locked in them for 9 hrs a day can't even stretch no wonder the babys have problems later on I know a lot of people who does this 🙃😢 and you always see the idiots walking there dogs on the paths and it's absolutely roasting how would they like to walk with their bare feet maybe some just don't think

If they are walking them, they wont be walking them for long, the owner will get hot to and will look for shade just as the dog.

I think people need to be educated on this because our poor fur babies need protecting as much as we do
