No, failed by one point! Passed second time round though after more studies of the Highway Code.

I did not do a theory test as I did my driving test in the 70s.The theory was introduced in 1996.During the test, the examiner would ask a set of questions but he was more interested in whether you could do a three point turn in the road and park the vehicle in a kerb side space. We had to do special hand signals to indicate we were slowing down or turning left or right.I had a Morris Minor which had pop out indicators.I failed first time as my windscreen wipers failed to operate in a snow storm!

Yes I passed my theory test first time round. My dad would quiz me every few days in the month leading up to my test.

I passed my theory test first time, that wasn't the problem for me at all. I remember I was the only girl in what seemed to be a room full of men who were stereo typical truckers (lol). However I when it came to the actual driving test I failed 5 times and on one occassion I think I may have given the examiner slight whip lash from all the bunny hopping. On another test the heavens opened for the worst of storms, thunder, lightening and rain like no one's business. I ran out of money in the end and as a newly divorced parent I had to put my daughter's needs first. It's too late for me to learn and pass my test now. My daughter grew up, flew the nest and I am 54 years old, disabled but doing OK.

stevea808 This was exactly the same for me but a different year. I was still very worried as they could literally ask you anything from the Highway Code book. I remember learning all the stopping distances on the back cover and he never asked me one of those.

Passed first time in 2012. Just got through the hazard perception though 😝. And got every single answer correct bar one about double red lines. All I did was flick through the highway code and do some practice hazard perception videos.

I passed first time but admit it was much easier back then I believe for the theory test. I was very pleased to have passed the full test first time. However I couldn't afford a car at the time so didn't properly drive a car until a year later when I had forgotten most of it and probably was a huge danger on the roads for a while.

Nope, i passed 2nd time. Was annoying cause i was passing easily in the practice but then got nervous and messed up on the hazard perception.

Yes - it’s the easy part for me, and that was the day they added the ‘progressive hazard’ part

Oh my gosh what's a theory test??, l had my driving test in Southfields, London and then was asked about five questions...overall stopping/breaking distance and a few road/motorway signs..which l had brushed up on the highway code prior to my driving test..l guess it its better that I'm no longer a car owner 😁😁

It was new when I did mine so was really easy. If I would have passed driving test first time would have avoided it

I did it overseas, but yes I did.

I accidentally failed on the driving exam assuming it was a one way and I was very stressed (my first time doing it), however on the second go it was smooth sailing.

When I did mine it was just the multiple guess theory test. I finished it all in less than 2 mins and that included checking all my answers were correct. The examiner looked shocked when I put my hand put to leave, as did everyone else in the room🤣🤣

100% correct

I think the theory test came out around the time I did mine, I passed first time. It was all done on paper then and multiple choice

Yes I passed first time but it was just before the hazard perception test was added. For the practical, I did a weeks intensive, 2 hour daily lessons Monday-Friday then driving test Saturday morning & passed first time.
