Do You Pay a Dog Walker?

Ask a Question

Does anyone pay a Dog Walker?

I'm curious why people pay for this service, is it because you work long hours, want your dog to have a longer walk? What kind of rates do they charge?

I use to walk a pug for £10 an hour years ago in Surrey, but l have my own dog now and would never allow anyone but a family member to walk her, it's just my preference, l cannot explain it any other way

I pay to walk other people's dogs 🤣

Borrow My Doggy only charge walkers around £12.99 a month so we can be insured to walk other people's dogs, have the joy of being around the dog but without having one. It is more expensive for the owners but it is unlimited amounts of walks a year so if you use every few months it might still be worth it for you and the person is doing it for the love of dogs not as a job.

I know my Mother-in-law pays for a walker, but it is because she's had some health issues, it helps her dog meet up with other dogs and burn off some energy and give them a break too. Not that she doesn't love her dog but it also helps the dog not be so reliable on their owners.

Rover is a good place to check local rates - you can put in your address, how often you need it, boarding, walking etc. Size of your dog and more. It is usually starts at £10-£15 a walk, probably around an hour.

I use to walk an old ladies dog and at the time I had dogs as well so this worked well. I would never pay someone to walk my dogs also I would never pay anyone to clean my house, tend to my garden or any other diy jobs.

If you can't walk them you shouldn't have a dog, if the dog is home all day alone because they work, again you shouldn't have a dog
