Realistically I'm against paying as it's slippery slope, if someone pays to move up the list that invariably mean someone else who can't afford it has to wait longer. But I suppose if I was in a lot of pain thou and could afford it I would consider it , but we should not have to.

I am sure there are people desparate enough to pay to hasten their operation on the NHS. However in our heart of hearts I am sure we can all see the problems this would lead to. The most vulnerable of society would be pushed further and further down the waiting list and those who paid for their queue jumping would be responsible for their fate. Surely there is another solution rather than survival of the financially fittest.

Nope because it's not fair on people who couldn't afford it

An absolute disgusting thought.

The NHS was set up for people who couldn't afford healthcare and this would be another step to privatisation.

Btw, Jeremy Vine is a nob

That would privilege the rich and make waiting longer for ordinary people, typical Torie comment from vine

If you can afford to pay for it then you should pay for it privately.

Tempting to those who can afford it but sadly sets a precedent for the rich so no.

I’m not surprised 40% would be willing to pay because most of us would do anything possible when we’re in pain.

Not a fan of this idea though as where does it end.
