Plastic Bags

Help

I think it's ridiculous why we have to pay for plastic bags in supermarkets. Do other countries follow the same?

Most countries arounf the world have adopted getting rid of plastic bags to replace with reusable ones. Although, plastic bags are still available but have to be purchased for a small amount.

Really surprised at your comment when plastic is causing untold damage to the environment and wildlife. Already the charge for bags has resulted in a drastic fall in the number used and that can only be a good thing. How hard is it to buy a bag for life, or take some other type of bag with you when shopping? I for one feel extremely guilty now when I am caught out without a bag of my own. I have one of those fold up material bags in a popper container and it is so handy. We should all be trying to use less plastic, not just in the area of carrier bags.

To be honest, plastic should be the least of anyone's worries. Plastic is moreso used as a scapegoat, I mean, yes it's bad but not in a tremendous scale as many think it is while completely forgetting of more important matters.
