Police Break into Woman's House after Mistaking Doll for Abandoned Baby

I have read stories about the police arresting people with toy guns after someone reported them having a real weapon
But i think this is the first time i have heard or read of the police breaking into a property to rescue a doll
Ava Prior, who makes "reborn" baby dolls as a hobby, was at her friends house when the police received a call from her mother to say she was worried about her as she wasn't answering her calls ot texting back as she usually does
Unbeknown to her her daughters phone was on charge
So the police called and spotted the doll in a pram through the window and thinking it was a baby tried to kick down her door
When that didn't work they smashed her patio window
They told her later her doll was so realistic they thought it was a baby
That was no consolation for the damage to the front door and patio glass which was more than £400
What surprised me more was that after the mothers call to the police they went there straight away, normally it would be a day or so later before they took a look , similar to a burglary or car theft

Omg hilarious. Brilliant. If I'm honest I'd rather that then someone notice. Click no one is home and ignore it cos they think it's fake or don't want to get involved and it be a real baby. If it had been real the mum could have been suffering pnd and gone off to self harm or it could be abuse
I didn't think it was Police who went around when people were concerned for someone they know...
Only the other week we couldn't get in touch with our Student Radiographer Daughter 25, at her rented flat,she was extremely tired that week, stressed out with Uni deadlines, one which she received a few days before..As we couldn't get in touch with her,we rang Leeds Police who said that the AMBULANCE Service would do a Welfare Check on her by going to the flat. Luckily my god daughter 23, her close friend works 10 min from her nr Leeds Station so we managed to contact her,she found our daughter, stayed with her & the Welfare Check was cancelled & thanks was given.
Our daughter was that tired she slept through til the afternoon til her friend turned up,her phone was off too so we had no option but to contact the Police.
Yes,the Police should break in if there's no other way & they were concerned for the "baby"...
It’s good that the police took immediate action. We should feel proud that they acted so quickly albeit an error.
Lol why doesn't this suprise me, they are completely useless, I wonder who reported it, surely if it was a neighbour they'd know it wasn't real

Apparently her daughter always answers her phone or sends a text to the mother when she calls
This time the phone was on charge so she never knew her mother called , and the mother panicked
Very strange as i always believed the police had to wait 24 hours before investigating a person missing , in this case the police went there straight away looking for the daughter and spotted what they thought was a baby in a pram and broke in
