Jerseydrew I thought freddos were even cheaper than that. I remember half penny sweets and a 10p mixup bag that I swear contained 100 sweets

£1.39 for a tube of Polo? Am I reading this right?

I remember the absolute shock in the 70s when they went up from 3p to 4p.

suevernon1968 yes my dad loved betting on the horses (not addictively) and when he had a good win he would give me £1. It would last me ages.

I can remember age 8/10, getting a bus to the cinema with a shilling. 6d to get in and 6d for a bar of chocolate or ice cream. For those too young to know 6d in today's money ......5p.
