What is Your Preferred Console
Ask a Question
Growing up we had an N64. Times have moved on a bit since then and could probably do with updating ours. So what is everyone’s go to, Xbox or PlayStation? Or any other options?
I am in the older category and still love playing on the Wii. I prefer the games as the whole family can get involved without ’killing’ things. Plus I can do my workouts.
I had a PS2, but then switched to Microsoft.
Currently have an Xbox One gathering dust under the TV, I can't remember the last time I played a game on it, It's used as a Blu-ray player mostly.
My son has been all Playstation - up to the PS4. Surprisingly though he isn't bothered about getting a PS5 as he is happy with the PS4 games still. He probably plays more games on his PC these days. He was never bothered about the Xbox even when we were offered one at a really good price secondhand and offered to pay half for him.
I'm old enough to remember the beginning of gaming, in fact as a kid I had a Binatone b/w console with simple pong games etc. The first cartridge based console I had was a Atari VCS and loved that and then moved onto computers. When I think about the consoles I must enjoyed owning I think its probably the Nintendo 64, Dreamcast and original Xbox. They just seemed like they had a ton of amazing games. Nowadays I'm more into PC games as I don't subscribe to PSN or Xbox Live so using my PS4 Pro and Xbox One X has no online functionality for games. I've no interest in PS5 or the latest Xbox now. I enjoy the scripted single player experiences rather than multiplayer games where you just chase others and shoot them etc. I like to work through a story while playing. These type of games are out of favour now it seems with much of the games industry. I get more pleasure playing older PC games with mods than I do newer games. I loved Fallout 3, New Vegas and 4 but got no entertainment out of Fallout 76 at all. I think what I like most about gaming is exploring virtual worlds. I find it easier to navigate in some games than I do the real world. I.e. find the shortest route.
