This is a puzzle that seems to confuse many - let's see if anyone gets the correct answer.
You're driving a train from the depot - at the first station eight passengers get on; at the next station three passengers get off and twelve get on;
at the next station, four get off and twelve get on; at the next station four get on and none get off; at the next station three sighted people get on and one blind person, with his guide dog get on. The question is "What is the name of the train driver?"
Well done LISA - I was waiting here patiently to see how long it would take for some people to remember their own names.
Those who were confused should just read the first few words. "You're driving a train from the depot"
That made me laugh out loud Nicola (or should I say Peter) I hope you can see the funny side too. When you've read other replies.
Please don't think this puzzle is any form of intelligence test or that I'm mocking you for your answer - it is just to demonstrate how people become so absorbed in what they think will be the question that they forget how it started,
davidstockport no that s ok. I thought it was wrong but I just thought I would give a go.
nicolajaynehend That's what's needed people joining in - as said I wasn't mocking your answer I just found it amusing. These puzzles/conundrums etc. give people the opportunity to CHAT. Look at this thread answered correctly by the first to respond but carried on for a long time afterwards.
davidstockport I have a promble with my spelling I have dislxler sorry if it's not right but hope get what I mean. So doing puzzles like these are good for me.
nicolajaynehend Don't worry about dyslexia it's no problem or laughing matter... that's unless you're invited to a toga party and turn up dressed as a goat.
Here's an easy one for you all..
What can go up a chimney down, but can't go down a chimney up.
LittleLisaMarie Somehow it reminded me of the question "How do you get down from an elephant?"
Lis Yes that's the answer... in full:"you don't get down from an elephant... you get down from a duck"
Lynibis I had a look and came up with bookkeeping - so near the "official" answer - it always sounds when spelling WOOLLEN out aloud that it qualifies, but it doesn't.
