Pyjamas - What Do You Wear?

Ask a Question

When I was just writing the title of this chat topic I spelt it as “Pajamas” but that’s the US English version lol 😝 whereas the actual spelling has a letter “y” in it haha 😬 I didn’t realise as I usually use “Pjs”

So what do you guys normally wear? Winter season I’m wearing layers to keep warm lol 😆

Now that it’s getting warmer it’s T-shirts 👚 out and thin material trousers

I don’t like wearing shorts 🩳 cause I don’t like the feeling of my legs touching each other cause of that sticky feeling during the summer lmao 🤣

In the winter I wear a base layer to bed buy this time of year it is pyjama bottoms and either a long sleeve or short sleeve t shirt. In the winter I've taken to wearing Sherpa Fleece tops indoors and snow socks. I'm what you might call 'a bit of a cold ass' because I feel the cold awfully lol

EmmaWright762 I know what you mean! I always wear layers cause they are thin lol 😝 and last layer is to wear a thicker big jumper and socks 🧦

But the winter we just had didn’t need to wear socks or many layers

Hate the cold 🥶 in my room cause no heating works!! 😭 the freezing cold is brutal makes my bones actually hurt 😞 in the past winters we’ve had!! Last year was completely fine wasn’t as cold

kitty88uk Ironically my heating works, it was just too expensive to have the gas heating on all the time for the last few winters. Hello layers and bedsocks, goodbye Gas company who I simply cannot pay such stupid prices for heating to.

EmmaWright762 yeah that’s good you opted not to use heating and wear layers of clothing and thick socks 🧦 well done 👏🏻

I have a set with comprises of a short sleeve top with a pocket, comes in handy, a pair of shorts and a pair of long bottoms which all mix and match. During the winter I will add a dressing gown. Some people known to call this a house coat.

eyeballkerry that a nice 😊 set to wear mix and match I do that too depends on the weather and seasons we have! I got so hot 🥵 early hours of this morning around 3am and I was just wearing a tshirt and thin long trousers covering myself with duvet lol

I didn’t know it’s called a house coat too! I have not worn a dressing gown in years! Many years ago I used it as an extra layer like a blacker cause one I had was thick and fluffy but it caused so much static electricity ⚡️ lol I think I may have given it to charity as it’s very good quality as though it’s brand new! As the last layer I wear during winter season is a thick jumper

kitty88uk I has been so hot in our bedroom all year. I was hoping during the winter it would have cooled down but never did. We always have the windows open and sometimes the ceiling fan.

eyeballkerry yeah same with my room!! It’s so annoying how warm it gets now! Windows always opened for fresh air all year round cause the food smells rises upwards

Felt so warm all night and just opened the loo and hallway windows too

Does the ceiling fan work to help cool you down?

kitty88uk I have a mixture of fans. The ceiling one works well, although it is centred in the middle of the room and would prefer it over my head. I have a Dyson fan as well. Plus a fan that goes under the covers. A handheld fan and fans that attach to my iPhone or iPad.

eyeballkerry wow that is a lot of fans! Oh didn’t know there’s fans that attach to phones! Mine gets hot when I charge and use it lol

Only fan I have is a handheld paper fan! Lol 😝

Using fans during summer season when so hot 🥵 does work but it’s just circulating the hot air back and forth

I have to have windows opened for fresh air but there’s none when summer dread 😰 the season lol and then winter when it’s so cold in my room! So out comes the layers of clothes! Now I’m just wearing tshirt to sleep

kitty88uk I usually find one of my fans works in each situation I need. I have one that plugs in on an aeroplane that comes in really handy.

In the winter I wear fleecy pj's or long sleeve top and long trousers. In the summer I wear a tshirt and long trousers or a strappy top and long trousers. I don't like wearing shorts either.

MrsCraig I like wearing loose baggy jumpers when it’s winter with a tshirt and thin long sleeve top underneath lol layers great for Leung warm in winter and then a hoodie jacket 🧥

Haha 😆 glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t like wearing shorts either

I do have a pair of trousers that aren’t fully long length that it’s part of a pj set for years ago from Sainbsury’s they used to do great sales bargains! Got so many clothes from there!

Haha 😆 that’s great 👍🏻 to hear I buy clothes for that exact reason too same with shoes 👟 I haven’t bought a new pair and keep wearing same trainers and boots for years and they are still in good condition except trainers I just slip them on to do laundry 🧺 outside but I don’t fully wear them so the heels are flattened lol 😝

kitty88uk like 2 peas in a pod! I will buy new shoes and boots in the sales but they will stay in the cupboard till my old ones are worn out. I've got a pair of ugg style boots (not reall ones, cost about £20) that have some small holes at the heel and on the sole. I wear in the garden when playing with my son.

I like pj's but they have to be cotton. Polyester does not work with me.

Like

teaeatherley73 is that so I see, why not polyester? Not comfortable to wear? Think most of my clothes are made of cotton I don’t know 🤷🏻‍♀️ cause I cut off all tags 🏷 on my clothes lol 😝 cause I don’t like how it feels against my skin on back of neck and side of body where the tags are and scrapes against my skin

I tend to sleep dressed anyway - so jeans and t-shirt often. In the summer I ditch the jeans. I sleep on the settee in a semi seated position often without covers. Just got used to it now. not slept in a bed for a few years

I should get shin blanket as well lol but then I have no place to put the double size duvet so annoying lol 😝

So when it’s summer and so hot 🥵 I fold it and push it at the bottom of the bed 🛏
