I've never been one for the Royal Family but I feel rather sad for her passing R.I.P. Queen Elizabeth II
Leannexxx yeah what a nasty people I've seen a lot of comments on social media not nice comments she's done well to keep this country at bay she's been in the army she's been in the reserve she's she's a lot respect a queen I know she's passed away now but what you going to have to respect her and now God save the king now
CallumFlowers honestly after watching the family I really feel for them I didn't like them as much because I felt it was all very soon as the queen wasn't even cold till he was called king now I know that's how it's done
Latest Deals shares our deepest condolences for the Royal family and our thoughts are with Her Majesty The Queen.
MrsPacker It is going to cost the country billions to change everything, coins notes, flags and companies status affiliated with the queen, to name but a few , the country is already in massive debt as we are, i think any changes should be put back at least a few years first in respect of the queens' memory and secondly because of the gross cost
If it goes against laws then change the laws , i am sure Charles would want to retain the memory of his mother for as long as possible and can wait a while longer to see his head on currency
Besides i predict the tourist industry are going to lose a lot with the queens passing, especially from the US and Japan, people used to flock to london to see the queen , i cannot see them doing it as enthusiastically with charles and camilla , especially with their history concerning Diana
Tom Yes that has already been clarified . Banknotes, coins , Passports , stamps etc will remain legal tender until they are naturally replaced over the course of time - so no cost .
Royal patronages ( By appointment to Her Majesty the Queen ) on such as HP sauce last for 2 years after the death so no cost there either . Tourists come to the UK to see the pageantry and history not the actual monarch .
All in all a pretty pointless and incorrect comment from our resident "In the newshound " ?
Golfforall More advice from our resident financial expert who thought the revolut bitcoin payment was a scam
Now a travel expert also
telmel If not a scam then certainly clickbait ? I wouldn't divulge that much info for £14 . Hope you enjoy your £14 worth of crypto .
Golfforall I did actually, no clickbait for me , just £14 of credit that i used to put towards a nice gift from amazon , thanks to PhilipMarc , as i believe others that ignored said advice may also have done
I was born the year she was crowned, I feel as if part of me is lost, I am overwhelmed with sadness.
Never cared about the royal family, except Princess Diana.
But, RIP to the Queen. It's a sad day she died.
I remember seeing the Queen frames/posters on various Canadian shows so they'll probably miss her as well.
I was shocked and saddened when I heard the news. I then read a beautiful poem someone had written and I was in tears. Just can't believe it.
Shocked and sadden on hearing on the Queen passing. On Tuesday she looked frail but well enough to see the new prime minister appointed.
Such devastating news! Queen Elizabeth II, longest living monarch and one who served our country proud. I've been deeply saddened to here of Her Majestys passing today
I was shocked and sadden at the news. Can't get over how quickly it happened, when you think on Tuesday she was appointing a new PM.
I have a lot of respect for Her Majesty the Queen, I think she was the last of a generation which put duty first. The end of an era.
My thoughts are with her family, at this sad time.
I've never known a time where she wasn't my monarch. It seems weird that she is gone. I'm against the monarchy in principle but she did the job fantastically well with so much dignity. Given the power I would have probably ended the monarchy with her. We have so many problems as a country and feel a more democratic approach is needed. I'd pretty much kick out everyone in the house of lords and replace them with elected experts in different fields so that we have a more economy focused democracy. I feel a lot more sad about her passing than I thought I would.
I think many feel they aren't royalist but feel great admiration and respect towards her. I'm not sure the monarchy would still exist in the UK if it hadn't been for her dedication to duty, which began when she was still so young. She certainly will be remembered as one of the greats.
Midnightflower this is so true iam not a royalist but admired and respected the Queen its a very sad time for the nation she will always be remembered as everyone loved her just can't believe it
It does feel as though the whole world has stopped and has felt the loss of our Queen, a formidable woman who gave her entire life to serve us. Like the monacy or not, she was an incredible human being and I never thought I would feel so sad about her passing....God bless and goodnight, your majesty....our country will never be the same without you x
very sad news indeed
may her soul rest in peace
i was very shocked but she is now with Philip and she will be missed by the nation
I still feel numb. Its so sad. She is with her one true love Prince Philip now. RIP and thank you for everything
My Husband Bret Jason Packer and myself send our deepest of Condolences to all the Royal Family and the staff members . Queen Elizabeth 2nd has been reunited with her husband Philip.
I only hope those with republic views respect a period of mourning before they start on us all.
I Our thoughts and prayers are with the family from my own going through similar at this time.
I was in the Brownies, Guides,Venture scout and cub scout leader in my younger years. It's strange to think that when you are invested into those that you make your salute and say that on your honour,to do your best,to help other people ,to serve The Queen and to keep the Brownie,/ Guide /Scout law.
That's all going to change now too.
The 2 rainbows over The Monarchs dwellings were beautiful. May you R.I.P. Your Majesty.
Although I think most of us could see it coming it was still very upsetting, for many of us, when it did. One thing that brings me some comfort is that she died peacefully and in the place she was happiest.
It's really sad.. mood felt sombre. I went yesterday to one of our Cathedrals and put flowers, lit a candle and signed a condolence book.
As you can probably tell, my origins are not from Northern Ireland but my great grandfather was French/Canadian who married a Polish girl, my grandpa was my world but he was a Royalist and served in the Navy.during WW2.
My mum was brought up in the church and her mum met the Queen several times that's the reason my mum was a guide leader and I followed my mums pathway. By volunteering with the youth groups it brought fun into my life.
Through school I did the Duke of Edinburgh awards scheme.
I feel sad for Charles. I know it’s tradition and how it all works but having to do all the pomp and circumstance he’s had to do almost immediately after loosing his mum, make speeches, sign official papers in front of dignitaries and cameras for the masses, hold himself together in front of millions when all he probably wants to do is grieve. Never has the stiff upper lip been more stiff !!! Very sad.
It is sad but we must celebrate her life. She served us all and deserves a good send off. We must remember she had a good life and lived long. I don’t think I will see 96.
Anyone that makes it to that age deserves a rest, she was a very popular person and will be missed by many.
Still not sank in properly yet just felt like she was going to stay forever going to feel weird for a long time
