What is Really in a Doner Kebab ?
In the News
Lets face it , we all like a doner kebab, especially after a night out
I am one of those that used to buy one after drinking with mates in my younger days , that or an indian meal
But do we know what goes into one ?
According to this article not a lot of lamb
Nine kebabs from different outlets were tested and only one was 100% lamb
The othe eight contained different meats , mainly chicken in most cases
Even worse is buying one abroad, they could contain anything from horse meat to goat
I suppose by the time you have smeared it with chilli sauce you would never know what it contained

It could be anything in it to be quite honest. Lamb is obviously meant to be In a Doner Kebab If not Chicken. A proper Doner In Turkey don’t come with a Pitta Bread. They serve It just on a plate. The Germans Introduced the Pitta Bread Into the scene.
Neither my husband or I have ever had a kebab. Some people in our local pub are always threatening to take us out for one, no thanks
eyeballkerry Its worth a try just to know what all the fuss is about
Notice it's people in the pub saying this E
They always taste better after a session
I don’t really want to know what’s in a donner kebab. I eat them occasionally and wouldn’t want that pleasure ruined
martinlufc5637 It is an aquired taste M , like beefburgers , some like them some don't
I enjoy a kebab now and again, I'd rather not know what they're made from. Also quite expensive now. I paid £16 for two the other day.
cant say I ever fancied one even when I was a meat eater. never looked tasty or at all desirable! always went for a cheap burger which was probably no better.
Is that the one they have meat on a stick moving all day long?
I ate a kebab sandwich years ago and it was pretty big admittedly (cost £6, I think) which I enjoyed, but nowadays... I'm just not interested.
As fast food, you can get worse (such as those chicken shops at every corner), so to fill up temporarily this is a good option (depending if the store has any standards of hygiene).
