I was 2 on December 9th, and that Christmas I asked for and received a bagatelle. I insisted the adults had to put out my Nan's coal fire when I went to bed

I was probably around 5 as birthday is Christmas. We had a sock that had an orange in it but we gave it back to mam for a fruit salad. The toy was a tin plate Robbie the Robot that moved with batteries and bits lit up. This was so cool as Lost in Space was black and white around 1964/5.

Simple things.

Oh and no birthday present.

Apparently my prezzie was more expensive than my sisters and brother.

BobtheBuilder1 I remember my dad telling me this true story.....I think it makes you appreciate toys, books and other products a lot more, and kids seem to take more care for their toys etc

There is 21 month between us & mum always dressed us the same even though my older sister is almost a year older so nearer my age!! 😂

I don't know what my first Christmas present was but I can remember getting a Barbie caravan. I had wanted it for ages and my parents said that Santa might not be able to bring it so I was so excited when I saw it Christmas morning.

Just remembered what mine was.It was a doll's house made by my grandfather who was a carpenter by trade.I was under 5 years of age at the time.He lived in Northamptonshire and I lived with my family in Nottingham and it was sent in chicken wire on a wooden base!

The 1st present I remember getting when I was maybe 9, my dad made me an all in 1 wooden desk, it was amazing and I had a 2nd hand typewriter in a little blue case to go with it. The desk is still knocking about somewhere in the attic

The best presents I remember getting I'm not sure if there was all at Christmas or birthday. But I loved a foam Pluto toy it had wire inside it's legs so could bend into different positions. I also once got a light up mouse which I loved to take to bed with me. But the best one was a Walkman I remember opening it on my parents bed and was so excited. I got a Ronald McDonald cassette tape to go with it. Listening to tapes on it was amazing it really blew my mind. I'd never heard music through headphones before. I was so happy!
