I have a Sharp TV 4K and it's really good, but it annoyed me it had apps I didn't agree to to being installed so through that method I got them uninstalled.
The physical buttons on the remote (Netflix / YouTube / Prime Video / Google Play Movies) now don't do anything though I don't mind it. If anything, I would have preferred a remote without those buttons.
I love my Roku box.I just install the apps I want.Lots of old B/W Public Domain films but I likes em anyway.
Pfs While it'd be better if they weren't there, I don't mind it too much.
Heck, I remember there's an app to reconfigure buttons so I might config them to SmartTube, Kodi, File Manager (browse a USB stick), etc.
Most of the apps on smart TVs are rubbish anyway, I've used YouTube are few times and that's it
martinlufc5637 I use SmartTube instead because it has no ads. It's like ReVanced for TVs.
Smart tube Next is brilliant. I even use it on my phone and tablet. I think it has been disappearing on some people's firesticks though as amazon updated their software although this might just be in the USA not sure.
My Finlux 4K 3D TV came with useless apps as it has its own basic smart TV system. I don't think I've ever really used them.
You can get android button mapper apps that enable you to re-use buttons for other apps. They might be worth exploring to get smart tube next to load instead of youtube when you hit the youtube button. I'm guessing if you have removed the youtube app maybe this is possible.
BonzoBanana Yep, that's the idea.
Smart TVs would be better if they came clean and the user would install the apps he/she wants. Same goes for phones/tablets.
Sadly, that's not happening. 
PhilipMarc I think the TV manufacturers get paid to include Netflix, Youtube and other buttons on their remotes and it helps subsidise the price of the TV a little bit.
