Reward Points
Money Saving
Hi to all members of LD,
I have been a member of this site for quite some time and have watched my earned points total grow VERY slowly...(sorry about the snail facing the wrong way, my iT skills are not that good).
As the basic redemption level is 5000 points = £5 Amazon voucher, ~1point = £0.001, it looks like I will be passing on my LD account so that those that survive me can carry on trying to reach the 1st redemption point(i wonder what a £5 amazon voucher will actually buy when the target is reached).
Strangely enough, the MORE points you redeem in one single transaction REDUCES the value of the points, somewhat illogical, surely it should be the complete REVERSE of this process, the MORE points the HIGHER the redemption REWARD.
I understand the premis of the site is to inform users of available deals, however, I am sure that making the rewards more easily attainable and of a better value, would be welcomed by ALL members.
I look forward to finding more transferable deals on the LD site in the future.
Best wishes to all.
I think you have it all a little wrong. You can easily earn well over 500 points per day if you take even a few of the actions you earn points for. Even at 500 per day you can get a £50 voucher within 100 days which I think is a good return if you are on the site daily anyway. If you go mad on points you can reduce that 100 days. It would seem you are not making the most of the site but maybe you don't have the time.
Nothing reduces. Your points total next to your icon reflects the points earned since starting so if you claim your first £5 you cannot expect to get that again. I have earned £450 in rewards and that is in bursts as I did not collect points at various times since I joined otherwise it would be significantly more. I have also won many prizes from entering the competitions.
If you use the site correctly it can bring savings in many way, points, prizes and money saving deals.
EDIT Having just looked at your profile you have been a member since 2022 but have only made 16 comments which would earn 320 points so I am not sure what you are saying. You have not done anything to earn points. Maybe click on your points total next to your icon and it will take you to a list of the ways to earn points.
Lynibis l concur, LD is a great site, l have found some wonderful deals for Birthdays, Christmas etc. Won quite a few competitions and have acquired points and Amazon vouchers. Love this site
Lynibis how can you look at MY profile??
I assumed that under the data protection act, MY PERSONAL DETAILS were PROTECTED.
I think I will have to contact LD about their site security, as it seems VERY POOR.
thelicencee there is nothing private there, you can look at mine too by clicking on my icon. it just gives what you have posted, doesn't even show your points, I just worked out that 16 comments would earn you x 20 = 320
Lynibis it took me a while to earn my first £5 but then I got used to how it worked and started getting points much faster . The value of the rewards are the same no matter what value voucher you reach . Basically you get £5 for your first 5000 points . Then you have to earn 10000 more to redeem £10 voucher so that totals 15000 points . Your next redemption will be £35 so you need to earn 35000 points so your total points will be 50000.
I think it took me a little bit of time to get into my own routine but now I have a daily routine I make my points quite easy. It depends on how much time I have daily to participate in the site but it doesn’t take long to rate deals or comment a short comment to show your appreciation of a great deal
St3v3cunn1961 absolutely, spot on, I think it takes us all a while to understand. I don't think the OP has been on here much since joining as he/she has not yet got to grips with it.
thelicencee it only shows the things that you have shared already . Any deals you’ve posted etc , nothing private . Click on my icon and you’ll see there’s nothing private there .
Lynibis I remember being a bit confused with the point system when I first redeemed my £5 . I thought I had to earn 15000 points from scratch for £10 . Then I realised the first £5 was still being counted so it was exactly the same value per point.
Honestly I think the points system on this site is great. As Lynibis said, if you post a few deals a day and leave comments, the points go up pretty quickly. I'm fast approaching 100k points and I've been on this site for probably 6 months. £100 worth of Amazon vouchers isn't a life changing amount but I think it's a very good return for posting a few deals, rating some deals etc
jms19 I think this member has not got to grips with how to use this site. There is another chat where someone is asking for a catalogue. I have edited my comment above to point thelicencee in the right direction.
From reading one of the comments it makes me somewhat concerned that the security on the LD site is VERY POOR and NEEDS a SERIOUS UPGRADE VERY QUICKLY.
I WILL be sending their security department an email immediately.
thelicencee and I think you are extremely rude considering you posted a chat topic to which people responded and tried to help you. At one point you suggest you are leaving LD then say you look forward to more transferable deals in the future. What are transferable deals?
By all means click my icon and then I suggest you click on your points to find more ways of building your total which will have already risen due to your comments today.
Lynibis L, dont waste your breath with these type of people , they just want to cause disruption on the site, there is another here also asking members to contact him/her on skype, they tried it with me , they cannot even spell in english properly, i hope LD removes these scammers fairly quickly
Lynibis There is nothing they can take from this site, but i think they start by hoping someone will contact them privately then try to obtain their confidence and gain trust to fleece them of money eventually
It is surprising how many people fall for this type of thing , even when there are warnings everywhere of these scams
Lynibis at no point any suggestion about leaving..
Transferable deals are deals that are transferable from person to person, when active and available.
Your idea of 'rude' differs from mine, I am concerned when someone says that they have looked at my profile, I assumed that profile information was NOT accessible by ALL AND SUNDRY.
thelicencee A profile on here just shares what scores you have pointwise, liking deals etc, top contributor etc. Nothing personal whatsoever.
I have been on this site a few years and nearing my 500k mark, I love sharing deals on here and have saved quite a bit of money with the deals posted by fellow members.
If you actively engage, your points will build up if anything I have met some lovely people
There are similar sites with no rewards, so the rewards are just a bonus.
If it was too easy then they wouldn't make any money, so it wouldn't be a viable business.
There are loads of ways to earn points on here. You can rate (just hit thumbs up or thumbs down) which is super easy, super quick and you can get 25 points EASILY, you can do this every 3 hours. There are so many ways to earn points. I come here partly for enjoyment and looking for deals.
The points rewards do NOT loose value. It is just the points don't reset.
So to get £5 you need 5,000 points. £10 you need to GET to 15,000, as they do not reset, it is still 5,000 per £5.
You are welcome to leave but this is my choice of site, you get rewards and the customer service is top notch compared to others I've used.
I could go into more detail of how to get to 5000 quickly. But most of the information can be found here: www.latestdeals.co.uk/points and if you are choosing to leave then you won't read it all anyway. I just didn't want people to be put off this amazing site, if they see this chat first before exploring it properly.
Hey thelicencee
This picture might help explain the points -
They always have the same worth but I appreciate the confusion. It's because you don't "spend" any points when you claim a reward. We probably should have designed the points system a bit more intuitively when we first made it
Re: your profile - only basic information is available for other members to see - such as the number of deals you've shared or comments you've made. Any personal information (e.g. email address) is kept safe
Kelsey Hi Kelsey,
Many thanks for your explanation of the points system, I did not realise that the earned points rolled over.
Also thanks for explaining what others are able to view.
When the other member said that they had looked at my profile, it gave the inference that they could see ALL of my information.
So once again many thanks for your reply and also taking the time to explain the relative sections.
The normal meaning of 'your profile' is personal information.
So if other members could access MY PROFILE, that would NOT be acceptable.
What you HAVE ACTUALLY DONE IS VIEWED MY MEMBERS ACTIVITY PAGE.
IF the CORRECT information had been presented initially, then ALL would have been hunky dory, but it wasn't, hence the concern over account safety and security.
You to have viewed MY MEMBERS ACTIVITY PAGE.
Happy reading.
I just wanted to reiterate what others have said, since I have joined, I have found lots of deals, new retailers, I regularly use the vouchers, saving £.
I hadn't been lucky enough to win any competition, but I would definitely recommend the site. So Kelsey and the team keep up the good work
I agree, this site has some great deals. I have been lucky to get some good bargains and I’ve just earned my £50 voucher. I like reading the comments when I have the time. Keep up the good work
Yes agree with everything everyone said ,the member ,after looking at his page has shared nothing! So how does he expect to quickly get a token?
Sarahvwomble I thought the same. 18 comments and 1 topic is not exactly putting in any effort
Earning points just depends on how often you interact with the site. If you don’t use it much you won’t get them points. Do you get notifications? You can claim some one one of them daily.
