Hey everyone - happy Thursday! Another round of website updates for you to enjoy/endure 
- We’ve given the grid view of deals a bit of a face lift to make it less cluttered and more straightforward. Not only does it look more purdy (in my humble opinion) but it’s more functional too - the voucher and competition sections now include bonus information!
- The fabled stock checker is very close to being ready for our beta testers (those with over 1,000 LD points will get access first!)
- We don’t conform at LD and so we don’t think your uploaded images should have to either
We’ve removed the slightly odd behaviour that was causing all images to stretch to being at least 300 pixels wide. Images are now free to be the size they want. - We’ve also increased the maximum size of images and tweaked the settings so that their original quality is retained
- With the introduction of image uploading in comments, we’ve also added in a small change to disable the comment box whilst your comment is submitting/uploading.
- We’ve removed member’s avatars on the homepage when visiting on mobile devices. This should mean a snappier website without having to go and find 25 different avatar images on a dodgy connection.
- At popular request, we’ve included the “skip to first/last” page buttons on mobile as well as desktop. We had to do a bit of feng shui to fit everything in but got there in the end!
- Finally, we’ve fixed a pesky longstanding bug with competition/voucher expiration dates - you should no longer see confusing messages like “competition ended in 4 hours” huh?! “Competition ending in 4 hours” makes a lot more sense and so that’s what it now says.
That’s all for now but lots more exciting updates in the pipeline! Please let us know your thoughts - good or bad 
The lighter colour of the retailer text is not as easy on the eyes.
Can we have that in a darker shade please.
Thanks for the feedback guys - should be several shades darker now - let me know if it's any better on the eyes!
It's better on the eyes now with the white background but I think it should be even darker so the text stands out more.
Will try out on my android in a bit, not sure if this will sort out the keyboard issue I showed you

I'm probably the only one who's ever nitpicked about this but it still looks like the quality of the images on LD posts has been downgraded. I mean, isn't it possible for LD to use external links and let those image links be as is?
P.S. Super happy with all the LD updates and new members that have joined - mixmixi Gamerofgames for the gaming section.
Hi Rockman unfortunately there are a few issues with external links:
- They can disappear!
- They can be slow which can slow down the whole page on LD
- Whoever hosts the image can get angry! We end up using their server's resources with no benefit to them so they can get a little angry and either take down the image or change it to something offensive
- External images can be of unlimited size which could mean people turning up to LD and having to download a 50mb image!
- Lots of the time the external images are on http rather than https links - at the moment this just creates a warning in the browser's logs but I have a slight concern that in the future browsers may update so that these images don't load.
Unfortunately that means for now we'll have to upload and host the images on LD. I'll continue to tweak the quality settings though - we'll get there!

Will Not Show As A Pic
Could we have the website names back on the competitions. It makes it easier for us (me) to see and remember which competition might've already been posted without having to search.
Hi 
do you use the list view or grid view to look at competitions? I'm not sure if it'll fit in the grid view but we may be able to get it into the list view? Or, alternatively, do you think it's of more value than either the end date or entry method as we could replace one of those?
I use the grid view.
I actually don't see the point of having the end date listed on the front if you have to click through to the competition anyway.
