Is It Safe to Take an EV through a Car Wash ?
In the News
In the article it says it is safe to use a car wash but certain conditions apply before you think about using one
Making sure the charge port door is securely shut and locked is essential, if water gets in especially if pressurised it could destroy the charging system
Then there there are the various sensors on EVs , it says dislodging them could affect various controls, one is the auto drive on teslas as an example, this could have deadly consequences
More common features like auto window wipers need to be switched off before using one
I am sure there are a lot more concerns to think about , but not owning or wanting to own an EV in the near future is a relief in this case

Gosh, this is something you don't necessarily think of until the situation arises. This is another reason to add to all the negatives I have heard about EVs. Not that I have ever considered or could afford to get one.
Yes it is, they all have to meet regulations which make them safe to go through a car wash or even a storm when there is lightning. Obviously you have to make sure your inition is in neutral and your windscreen wipers are disabled but apart from that you're good to go.
